Mumbai, November 24: HDFC Asset Management Company Limited has announced that it is preparing for its first-ever bonus issue. It has approved 1:1 as the bonus issue ratio, and has fixed November 26 as the ex-bonus date. An ex-bonus date is the date before which investors must buy the shares of a company to be eligible for the bonus issue. Hence, investors must buy the shares of HDFC AMC by the end of tomorrow’s trading session to be eligible for its bonus issue.

HDFC AMC Announces First Bonus Issue

HDFC AMC has announced a bonus issue with the ratio of 1:1. This means that eligible shareholders will receive 1 extra share for every share they hold on the record date. The record date is the date on which a company looks at its shareholders’ list to determine shareholders eligible for the bonus issue. The company has set the record date on November 26, the same as the ex-bonus date.

On November 26, the share price of HDFC AMC will fall by 50%. However, investors need not worry as this will lead to no monetary loss. It will be a share price adjustment to the bonus issue. Since eligible shareholders will receive one extra share, the share price will fall by 50% to ensure the overall investment value for shareholders remains the same.

Shares Rise by 0.48% to ₹5,419.50

At the market open today, HDFC AMC share price opened 0.48%, or 26 points higher at ₹5,419.50. The traded volume stood at 2.10 thousand shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹1,15,504 crore. The shares have their 52-week high at ₹5,934.50 and their 52-week low at ₹3,563.05.

Investor Takeaway

HDFC AMAC is preparing to launch its first-ever bonus issue. The corporate action is aimed at providing more liquidity to shareholders and attracting more investors with a lower share price. Eligible shareholders will be rewarded with one extra share at no additional cost. However, they must hold or buy the shares of the company by the end of tomorrow’s trading session, as the ex-bonus and record date is on November 26. For now, the shares are witnessing positive investor demand, leading to a share price rise.
