HDFC Bank Reappoints Kaizad Bharucha as Deputy Managing Director for Three Years

Mumbai, October 30, 2025: HDFC Bank has announced that Mr Kaizad Bharucha will be appointed as Deputy Managing Director for another three years, pending final approvals. The Nomination and Remuneration Committee pushed for his reappointment during the Board meeting on Thursday, which ran from 9:30 to 11 in the morning.
Leadership Profile
Since April 2023, Mr Bharucha has served as the Deputy Managing Director. He joined HDFC Bank in 1995, making him the longest-serving member of the Executive Board. He has 40 years of banking experience and has played a significant role in HDFC Bank’s strategy, growth, and leadership in retail, wholesale, credit, and risk.
Strategic Contributions
Mr Bharucha led the charge in inclusive banking and various government initiatives, including PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, and NPS, positioning HDFC Bank as the first among private banks. He managed merger integrations for Times Bank and Centurion Bank of Punjab, and was co-chair of the HDFC Ltd–HDFC Bank merger process. He improved risk management practices by implementing RIC, BASEL II and RAROC. He further enhanced technology in the wholesale banking and credit functions. He spearheaded the CSR and ESG agenda, which led HDFC Bank to be ranked among the top three in India for CSR competency.
Current Responsibilities
Mr Bharucha, as the Deputy Managing Director, is responsible for Retail Assets (home, auto, business, and rural lending), Wholesale Banking (corporate, healthcare, and emerging corporates), Strategic Groups (MSME, SME, Sustainable Livelihood, and Transportation), and the bank’s CSR, ESG, and inclusive banking efforts.
