US equity markets ended the day in red, yesterday, 30th December, 2025. Nasdaq ended the day, down by 55.27 points or 0.24%. S&P 500 ended the day, down by 9.50 points or 0.14%. Dow Jones ended the day, down by 94.87 points or 0.20%.

European markets closed on a robust note, yesterday

European markets closed the day in green, yesterday. Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, up by 44.51 points or 0.77%. Dax ended the day, up by 139.29 points or 0.57%. FTSE 100 ended the day, up by 74.18 points or 0.75%.

Italy’s Parliament passed the budget for 2026. The budget aims at reducing fiscal deficit to 2.8% of GDP in 2026 from 3% of GDP in 2025. Some tax cuts have also been announced in the budget for those earning between Euro 28,000 and Euro 50,000. Meanwhile, inflation in Spain came down to 3% (year-on-year) in December from 3.2% in November.

Asian markets start the day in red

Nikkei is closed today. It ended the day, yesterday, down by 187.44 points or 0.37%. Hang Seng is down today. At 9:05 a.m. IST, 31st December, 2025 it is down by 295.16 points or 1.14%. Shanghai Composite is down by 3.13 points or 0.079%. South Korean Kospi is down by 6.39 points or 0.15%.

Indian equity markets may see a flat day today

Indian equity markets may see a flat day on the last day of the year. FII activity is likely to remain muted today. Gold and silver prices declined yesterday. Silver Futures for March delivery are down by around 6.85% at this time.
