IndiGo Reports ₹25,821 Million Net Loss In Q2FY26 Amid Forex Impact; Revenue Rises 10% YoY

Gurugram, November 4, 2025: India’s largest airline, InterGlobe Aviation, has reported a consolidated net loss of ₹25,821 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2025. The shift was recorded as a foreign exchange loss offsetting operational gains. Besides the forex impact, the airline has posted a net profit of ₹1,039 million compared with a loss of ₹7,539 million in the same quarter last year.
Financial Performance Overview
In the second quarter of FY26, the company’s revenue from operations rose by 9.3% year-on-year, while total income increased by 10.4% to ₹195,995 million. Excluding foreign exchange gains, the EBITDA grew by 42.5%, reflecting improved operational efficiency. However, the company reported a loss of ₹24,817 million before tax and ₹25,821 million after tax, highlighting continued pressure on the bottom line. Operational Metrics of the second quarter show that the company’s capacity improved to 3.6%. Its output increased to 3.2% to ₹4.69/km, with a stable load factor, showing steady demand.
Management Commentary
IndiGo’s Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers has remarked that the airline’s improved capacity deployment aided in providing topline growth of 10% and restoring operational profitability excluding the impact of foreign exchange. Elbers added that the quarter provided stabilisation starting in July with a very strong recovery in August and September, adding, “We have increased our operational plans for the second half of the year in line with the continued demand and growth. As a result, we have also slightly increased our capacity guidance for the full FY2026 to growth in the early teens.”
Balance Sheet Snapshot
As of September 30, 2025, the company’s balance sheet reflected a total cash balance of ₹535,152 million, comprising Free Cash of ₹385,167 million and Restricted Cash of ₹149,985 million. On the liabilities side, the company reported a total debt of ₹748,138 million, which includes capitalised lease liabilities amounting to ₹496,514 million.
Fleet and Network
The company has reported strong operational performance. As of September 30, 2025, IndiGo operated 417 aircraft and conducted 2,244 daily flights. Its extensive network covered 94 domestic and 41 international destinations, supported by a diverse fleet comprising A320s, A321s, ATRs, freighters, and leased wide-body aircraft.

At the World Airline Awards 2025 by Skytrax, IndiGo was recognised as the Best Airline in India and South Asia. The airline also received the Iconic Excellence in Aviation and Best Domestic Airline awards at the 7th ICONIC Awards 2025, reaffirming its industry leadership and consistent service excellence.
As of 4 November 2025, the share price of InterGlobe Aviation Ltd closed at ₹5,630, down ₹65.50 or 1.15% from its previous close of ₹5,695.50.
