New Delhi: Telecom infrastructure firm Indus Towers on Tuesday reported a 2.5 per cent fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,793 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
The company said the year-ago quarter had a write-back of Rs 195 crore in provision for doubtful receivables, aided by collections against past overdue.
Its consolidated revenue rose 4 per cent to Rs 8,516 crore, and EBITDA edged up 0.4 per cent to Rs 4,633 crore.
The EBITDA margin was 54.4 per cent.
Return ratios declined, with pre-tax return on equity slipping to 25.3 per cent from 38.4 per cent a year earlier, and post-tax return on equity to 18.8 per cent from 29 per cent.
Return on capital employed also dropped to 19.1 per cent from 26.3 per cent.
The company’s tower base rose 5.6 per cent to 2,70,480, and its co-location base grew 5.9 per cent to 4,40,153.
Tenancy ratio improved to 1.63.
Strong co-location additions and cash generation drove robust performance, the company said in its Q2 earnings release.
“We delivered a strong quarter, underpinned by sustained customer demand, healthy co-location additions and robust cash flow generation,” its Managing Director and CEO Prachur Sah said.
He said the improved tenancy ratio reflected the company’s success in capturing a substantial share of customers’ incremental rollouts, reinforcing its position as their preferred infrastructure partner.
Sah said a focus on a low-cost shared infrastructure model, digital energy management and AI-led transformation was improving operational efficiency and customer experience.
In Africa, he said, initial rollouts were progressing as planned, with momentum expected to build through the second half of the year.
“Supported by a healthy order book and a compelling infrastructure value proposition, we remain confident of delivering sustainable growth and long-term shareholder value,” Sah said.
