2025 was a challenging year for Indian IT companies. Increased H1B visa fee by US government made it more expensive for these companies to send their cheaper human resources from India to US to work for client companies. Economic uncertainty in USA because of President Trump’s sudden policy changes made many US companies postpone their planned spending on IT projects. US and North American market is the biggest market for Indian IT companies. A large number of US companies are clients of Indian IT and software companies.
The coming of Artificial Intelligence is making Indian IT & Software companies add products related to Artificial Intelligence. Infosys is offering AI solutions under its AI Topaz platform. It is still uncertain to what extent Artificial Intelligence will help companies increase their productivity. If AI solutions are not able to provide the kind of productivity and efficiency gains on which current expectations are based, then it will also increase uncertainty and risks for Indian IT companies.
