Jio Platforms IPO Valuation: What Is the Reported $143–146 Billion Figure?

Valuation is one of the biggest talking points around the Jio Platforms IPO.

Banking sources cited by PTI have indicated that Jio Platforms could list at a base enterprise valuation of $143–146 billion, equivalent to at least ₹12 lakh crore. The estimate follows strong interest reported during Jio Platforms’ overseas investor roadshows.

However, investors should note that this is an estimated enterprise valuation and not the final market capitalisation or officially announced IPO valuation.

The final valuation will depend on the price band, issue structure and investor demand disclosed through the final IPO documents. The company has not yet announced the final issue price.

Jio Platforms Financial Performance

Jio Platforms enters the proposed IPO with a large and profitable digital business.

According to Jio’s FY2026 financial information, the company reported revenue from operations of around ₹1.47 trillion and EBITDA of about ₹763 billion.

Key FY26 financial figures include:

Financial Metric FY26
Revenue from Operations ₹1,46,885.3 crore
EBITDA ₹76,255.4 crore
Profit for the Year ₹30,049.1 crore
Net Worth ₹3,34,013.4 crore

Jio’s FY26 revenue increased from ₹1,28,218.4 crore in FY25, while profit for the year rose from ₹26,109 crore to ₹30,049.1 crore.

The company’s scale extends beyond mobile connectivity, with operations and investments across fixed broadband, digital services, cloud, artificial intelligence and enterprise networking. Jio says its telecom subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm served 524.4 million customers in India as of March 31, 2026.

Where Will Jio IPO Money Be Used?

The proposed IPO proceeds are primarily linked to reducing debt at Reliance Jio Infocomm, Jio Platforms’ material subsidiary.

The draft prospectus had proposed using up to ₹27,500 crore of net IPO proceeds towards prepayment or repayment of certain borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm.

This makes debt reduction one of the key reasons behind the proposed public offering.

Jio’s official investor-relations page currently hosts its IPO-related documents, including the Draft Red Herring Prospectus and other issue documents.

Jio IPO and Global Investors

Jio Platforms already has several major global investors.

According to the draft prospectus and recent reports, Reliance Industries holds around 66.4% of Jio Platforms, while Meta and Google hold stakes of around 9.98% and 7.73%, respectively.

Meta had invested ₹43,574 crore for a 9.99% stake in 2020, while Google invested ₹33,737 crore for a 7.73% holding.

The presence of these strategic investors has been one of the factors behind the global attention surrounding the Jio IPO.

Why the Jio Platforms IPO Is Important

The proposed offering is significant for India’s primary market for several reasons.

First, the estimated $3.8 billion issue would make it the country’s largest IPO if completed at the reported size. Second, the reported $143–146 billion enterprise valuation would place Jio Platforms among India’s most valuable businesses.

The IPO would also mark the first public offering from the Reliance group since 2008 and the first IPO of a consumer-focused business within the conglomerate, according to PTI.

Jio IPO: What Investors Should Watch Next

The next important developments will be the filing of the final offer documents, announcement of the price band, confirmation of the IPO dates and disclosure of the final issue structure.

Until these details are officially released, the reported October 21 opening date, October 28 listing date and $143–146 billion valuation should be treated as indicative rather than final.

Conclusion

The Jio IPO is shaping up to be one of India’s biggest market events of 2026. The issue is reportedly targeting around $3.8 billion, with the IPO planned to open on October 21 and shares targeted for listing on October 28.

At the same time, banking sources cited by PTI have indicated an enterprise valuation of $143–146 billion. With strong FY26 financials and proceeds primarily intended for debt repayment, the final price band and valuation disclosed in the offer documents will be the key figures for investors to watch.
