Indian equity markets have started the day in green today, 30th September, 2025. At 9:50 a.m. IST, Nifty 50 is up by 26.05 points or 0.11%. Sensex is up by 30.11 points or 0.037%. The gains today ,by this time, are more broad based rather than being limited to a few stocks.

JSW steel shares gain after Supreme Court upholds BPSL resolution plan

Top three gainers at Nifty 50 at this time are JSW Steel, BEL and Hindalco. Top three losers are Indigo, L&T and ITC. JSW Steel’s shares are gaining today after the Supreme Court turned down its earlier order and upheld the resolution plan of JSW Steel for Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd. JSW Steel shares are up by 1.49% at this time, trading at Rs 1,138.90.

Indigo shares started trading as part of Nifty 50 from today. The shares are down by 1.52% at this time, trading at Rs 5,620.

Most broad market indices in green

All the broad market indices, except for Nifty Midcap 50, are in green at this time. Nifty Midcap 50 is down by 0.05%. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Metal index is the top gainer at this time. It is up by 0.88%. Nifty Media Index is the top loser at this time. It is down by 0.78%.

Market breadth very positive

Market breadth is also very positive at this time. 1816 stocks are gaining at NSE at this time. 825 stocks are declining. 69 stocks touched 52-week high in the first 30 minutes of trading. 49 stocks touched new 52-week lows.
