L&T Secures Large Offshore Order From ONGC; Shares Rise 1.20%

L&T has secured a large offshore EPCIC order from ONGC for the Ratna-I and NLM-14 developments, while shares gain 1.20% in morning trade.

Mumbai September, 09: Larsen & Toubro has secured a large offshore order from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation for the additional development of the Ratna-I (ADR-I) and NLM-14 projects on India’s west coast.
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore has won the contract for engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of new offshore facilities, according to the company’s exchange disclosure dated September 9, 2026.
The scope covers three new well-head platforms, one riser platform, multiple sections of subsea pipelines and cables, along with brownfield modifications to existing offshore installations.
The project is aimed at supporting higher production from ONGC’s offshore assets and continuing the development of its west coast fields. L&T said the work combines new offshore facilities with modifications to existing operating infrastructure.
The company has classified the contract as a Large Order, which under L&T’s order classification corresponds to an order value between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore.
Stock Market Snapshot
The L&T share price was trading at ₹3,993.30, up ₹47.20 or 1.20%, as of 10:42:35 AM IST on September 9, 2026, according to the market data shown.
The stock moved higher from around ₹3,975 shortly after the market opened and crossed ₹4,000 during the morning session. It subsequently moderated but remained close to the ₹4,000 mark at the latest available timestamp.
The share movement comes as L&T disclosed the ONGC contract, although the market price reflects trading activity at the stated time and does not by itself establish the precise impact of the order on valuation.

Order Covers Platforms, Pipelines And Brownfield Work
The ONGC contract brings together both new-build and modification work across offshore assets.
L&T will undertake EPCIC activities for three well-head platforms and a riser platform, while also handling specified subsea pipeline and cable sections. Brownfield modifications will be carried out on existing offshore installations as part of the project.
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore said its in-house engineering capabilities, fabrication facilities and marine fleet have supported the execution of complex offshore projects across different water depths and geographies.
L&T Has Decades Of Offshore EPC Experience
L&T is a diversified Indian engineering and infrastructure group with operations spanning EPC projects, high-tech manufacturing, products and services.
Its hydrocarbon business has been active in offshore engineering and construction for several decades, covering fixed platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and decommissioning assignments.
The latest ONGC contract adds to this offshore portfolio and provides work across engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning activities.
