Mumbai August, 31: Life Insurance Corporation of India will launch two new insurance products, LIC’s Bima Platinum and LIC’s Jeevan Raksha, for the domestic market from September 7, 2026, according to a regulatory disclosure.

The company said the products fall within different categories of non-par, non-linked individual life insurance offerings. LIC’s Bima Platinum is classified as an individual savings plan, while LIC’s Jeevan Raksha is an individual pure risk plan.

Both products are intended for the domestic market. The filing did not indicate any international launch for either product.

The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015, under the provisions covering the launch of new products.

Stock Market Snapshot

LIC shares were trading at ₹417.90, down ₹4.50 or 1.07%, as of 2:52:03 PM IST on August 31, 2026, according to the market data provided.

The stock saw a sharp move shortly after the opening session, briefly climbing above ₹420 before losing ground. Selling pressure intensified through the morning, taking the stock close to ₹413 before it began recovering gradually.

The LIC share price improved through the afternoon and moved back towards ₹418, but remained below the previous session’s level at the reported timestamp.

The stock’s movement remained negative even as the insurer announced the launch of two new products for its domestic portfolio.

Bima Platinum Adds An Individual Savings Offering

LIC’s Bima Platinum has been classified as a non-par, non-linked individual savings plan. The product is scheduled to become available for sale from September 7, 2026.

As a non-linked product, it is not linked to the performance of market-linked funds, while the non-par classification distinguishes it from participating policies that typically provide policyholders with a share of declared bonuses.

The exchange filing did not provide further product-level details such as premium structure, policy tenure or benefits.

Jeevan Raksha Is Classified AsA Pure Risk Plan

LIC’s second product, Jeevan Raksha, is classified as a non-par, non-linked individual pure risk plan.

The product is also scheduled for launch in the domestic market from September 7, 2026. Its classification places it within LIC’s protection-oriented insurance offerings rather than the savings category used for Bima Platinum.

The company has not disclosed additional commercial terms in the regulatory intimation.

LIC Continues To Expand Its Domestic Product Portfolio

The two launches add separate savings and protection propositions to LIC’s individual insurance portfolio.

LIC remains India’s largest life insurer by scale, with a broad product mix covering protection, savings, pension and investment-linked insurance solutions. New product launches allow the insurer to refresh its offering across different customer requirements while complying with product-specific regulatory approvals.

The latest disclosure specifically confirms that both Bima Platinum and Jeevan Raksha will be available in the domestic market from September 7, 2026.

Conclusion

LIC is set to introduce Bima Platinum and Jeevan Raksha from September 7, 2026, giving its domestic portfolio a new individual savings product and a pure risk offering.

The announcement adds two products to the insurer’s range, although the regulatory filing does not disclose their detailed commercial terms. LIC shares were down 1.07% at ₹417.90 as of 2:52:03 PM IST on August 31, 2026.
