Mumbai September 21: Marine Electricals (India) Limited has expanded its manufacturing footprint with the launch of a new facility in Goa, strengthening its capacity to serve data centres, ports and other industrial customers, while shares rose 9.65% in Monday’s session.

The new plant is the company’s sixth manufacturing facility and has started production with a focus on Power Train Units (PTUs) for data centres and shore conversion systems for ports.

Marine Electricals Starts Production At New Goa Plant

According to the company’s exchange disclosure, the Goa facility has a combined floor space of approximately 1,60,000 sq. ft. and commenced operations on September 14, 2026.

The plant has been set up to manufacture PTUs for data centres and shore conversion systems used in port and marine infrastructure. Marine Electricals said the expansion is aimed at strengthening its production capabilities in critical power distribution and marine applications.

Production has already started at the facility, with full manufacturing capacity expected to reach around 800 PTUs for data centres per year by March 2027.

The stock’s sharp move came as the company disclosed the commissioning of its new manufacturing facility and outlined the expected increase in production capacity.

Goa Plant To Support Data Centre And Port Business

The new facility is expected to increase Marine Electricals’ ability to handle larger and more complex projects across its Marine and Industrial business segments.

The company said the Goa plant will focus on production of PTUs for data centres as well as shore conversion systems for ports. These products form part of the electrical infrastructure required for high-demand commercial and industrial applications.

The facility is also expected to create employment opportunities in the region across production, engineering, logistics, quality assurance and other operational functions.

Existing Facilities Continue To Handle Switchgear Production

While the Goa facility takes up the new product lines, Marine Electricals’ existing manufacturing network will continue to support its established product portfolio.

The company said its fully operational five units in Goa and one unit in Vadodara will continue manufacturing LV/MV switchboards and busducts.

This gives the company additional manufacturing capacity while allowing its existing facilities to continue serving ongoing requirements across power distribution and electrical infrastructure.

Marine Electricals Builds Manufacturing Scale

Marine Electricals, established in 1978 and headquartered in Mumbai, provides engineering solutions across power distribution, automation and integrated electrical systems.

Its customer base includes the Indian Navy, shipyards, data centres, semiconductor and industrial companies, with operations spanning commercial marine and defence marine industries, infrastructure and commercial sectors.

The company has more than 700 employees and six-plus manufacturing facilities and multiple offices and service centres. It reported FY26 revenue of ₹877 crore and an order book of ₹2,073 crore as of June 2026.
