Metalic Technoforge IPO opened for subscription on Tuesday, with the ₹49.96 crore NSE SME issue witnessing a slow start as it was subscribed 0.07 times by 10:35 AM on Day 1, led by retail investors.

Mumbai, July 21: The subscription window for the Metalic Technoforge IPO opened on Tuesday, giving investors their first opportunity to bid for the ₹49.96 crore NSE SME public issue. While the bidding process has only just begun, the issue has received a measured response in the opening hours, with investors subscribing to 0.07 times the shares on offer by 10:35 AM.
Early subscription numbers are often subdued, particularly in SME IPOs, as institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals usually prefer to wait until the final stages of the bidding period. Retail participation, meanwhile, typically provides the first indication of investor interest, and that trend was visible in Metalic Technoforge’s opening session.
Retail Segment Drives Initial Demand
Retail investors emerged as the most active participants during the first few hours of bidding.
Exchange data showed the Retail Individual Investors (RII) category subscribed 0.13 times, making it the strongest-performing segment so far. Although the subscription is still at an early stage, the retail response indicates that investors have started evaluating the issue from the opening day itself.
The Non-Institutional Investor (NII) category was subscribed 0.03 times. Within this segment, the small NII (sNII) portion stood at 0.09 times, while the big NII (bNII) category had not received any bids at the time of reporting.
As expected on the first morning of bidding, the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB), excluding anchor investors, had not yet participated, leaving the category at 0.00 times.
Metalic Technoforge IPO Subscription Status Today
According to exchange data available at 10:35 AM on July 21, investors had bid for 3,20,000 equity shares against 43,20,000 shares available for subscription.
The latest category-wise subscription stood at:
- QIB (Ex-Anchor): 0.00 times
- NII: 0.03 times
- bNII: 0.00 times
- sNII: 0.09 times
- Retail Investors: 0.13 times
- Overall Subscription:0.07 times
The issue had received 96 applications at the latest update.
Bidding Will Continue Till July 23
Investors will have three trading days to submit applications, with the IPO scheduled to remain open until July 23 2026.
Historically, subscription activity in SME IPOs accelerates during the final day as institutional investors, wealthy individuals and even retail applicants place bids closer to the closing deadline. As a result, Day 1 figures generally provide only an early snapshot rather than the final picture.
The next two sessions will therefore be closely watched to see whether participation gathers momentum across all investor categories.
