Mumbai, August 21: The Mopshop Distribution IPO has managed to get past the full-subscription mark on the final day of bidding, although investor interest remains heavily tilted towards the individual investor category. The ₹27.26 crore issue was subscribed 1.59 times as of 4:59 PM on August 21. The IPO closes for subscription today.

Investors had placed bids for 29,84,000 shares, compared with 18,76,000 shares available in the public portion. In value terms, the bids were worth about ₹41.18 crore. The issue had attracted 1,444 applications at the time of the latest update.

The individual investor portion has done most of the heavy lifting. It was subscribed 2.91 times, with bids coming in for 27.30 lakh shares against 9.38 lakh shares reserved for the category.

The response from NII investors has been considerably weaker. Their portion was subscribed only 0.27 times, with bids for 2.54 lakh shares against 9.38 lakh shares on offer.

Mopshop Distribution is a ₹27.26 crore fixed-price IPO. The public issue includes a fresh issue of 15.01 lakh shares worth ₹22.08 crore and an offer for sale of 3.75 lakh shares aggregating to ₹5.18 crore. Another 99,000 shares have been set aside for the market maker.

Mopshop Distribution IPO Subscription Status Day 3 (As Of 5:00 PM)

Here is where the issue stood in the latest update:

  • Overall: 1.59x
  • Individual Investors: 2.91x
  • NII: 0.27x
  • Market Maker: 1x
  • Total Applications: 1,444

Individual investors have clearly been the strongest participants in the issue so far. Their category has received bids for nearly three times the shares reserved for them.

The NII book tells a different story. Even after three days of bidding, it remained below full subscription at 0.27 times. Bids in this category covered only 2.54 lakh shares against the 9.38 lakh shares available.

That leaves the overall issue in positive territory, but the final number is still being shaped by the strong retail response rather than broad-based demand across categories.

Day-Wise Subscription Trend

The issue started slowly but gained ground over the three-day bidding period. It was not fully subscribed on Day 1, crossed the one-time mark on Day 2 and reached 1.59 times on the final day.

Day Overall Individual Investors NII
Day 1 (August 19) 0.78x 1.44x 0.12x
Day 2 (August 20) 1.07x 2.09x 0.06x
Day 3 (August 21) 1.59x 2.91x 0.27x

On the opening day, the overall book was at 0.78 times, while individual investors had already covered their allocation at 1.44 times.

By Day 2, the overall subscription moved to 1.07 times. Individual investor demand continued to build, reaching 2.09 times, although the NII portion slipped to just 0.06 times.

The final day brought another jump in individual investor participation. Their subscription climbed to 2.91 times, taking the overall issue to 1.59 times. NII demand also recovered from Day 2, but stayed well below the one-time mark.

The company’s product basket is largely made up of cleaning and hygiene supplies. This includes microfiber cloths, surface disinfectants, tissue papers, garbage bags, pedal bins, wringer buckets, vacuum cleaners, air fresheners and tool kits.

Conclusion

Mopshop Distribution IPO has crossed the subscription line on the final day, but the numbers show a clear difference in participation between the two main investor groups. At 4:59 PM on August 21, the issue was subscribed 1.59 times overall, with individual investors accounting for the strongest demand at 2.91 times.

The NII portion, on the other hand, was still at 0.27 times. So while the IPO has received enough bids to cover the shares on offer, the demand has not been evenly spread across categories.

The Mopshop Distribution IPO closes today, August 21. The tentative allotment is scheduled for August 24, refunds are expected on August 25 and the shares are slated for listing on the BSE SME platform on August 26.
