Mumbai, March 16: Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Ltd informed exchanges that it has received communication from Gujarat Gas Limited regarding implementation of the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The disclosure, submitted under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, states that the order dated March 9, 2026 regulates allocation and pricing of natural gas amid geopolitical disruptions affecting supply availability.

According to the exchange filing dated March 14, 2026, industrial consumers including the company’s manufacturing facilities will receive natural gas supply capped at 80% of the average consumption recorded over the past six months, subject to operational availability.

Additionally, the pricing and allocation mechanism will now be governed through a pooled price structure determined by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC). The order has been classified as a force majeure mitigation measure and overrides existing provisions within the company’s gas sales agreements concerning pricing and contracted quantities.

Tatva Chintan Share Price Snapshot

Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem shares traded lower on March 16, 2026 following the regulatory disclosure.

As of 11:07 IST, the stock was quoted at ₹1,139.90 on the National Stock Exchange, down ₹10.30 or 0.90% from the previous close of ₹1,150.20, according to exchange data.

The Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem share price moved within a session range of ₹1,127.00 to ₹1,158.70 so far during the day. Market capitalisation stood near ₹2,660K crore based on prevailing prices.

Operational Response From The Company

The company stated that it has initiated contingency measures to mitigate potential disruption arising from gas supply constraints.

Management indicated that arrangements have been made to utilise alternative fuel sources permitted by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board. Production processes are also being optimised to minimise any potential impact on manufacturing output.

However, the company noted in its filing that the financial implications arising from reduced supply availability and the revised pooled pricing mechanism cannot be fully quantified at this stage.

Company Background

Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Ltd manufactures specialty chemicals used in phase transfer catalysis, electrolyte salts for supercapacitors and pharmaceutical intermediates. The company supplies to industries including agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and battery chemicals.

Its manufacturing operations rely partly on natural gas as an industrial fuel input. Changes in allocation policy or pricing mechanisms can therefore influence operational cost structures.

Conclusion

The regulatory order introduces temporary supply allocation limits and a revised pooled price mechanism for industrial gas consumers. Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem has initiated operational adjustments while monitoring the evolving pricing framework and supply conditions.

The company said it will continue to update stock exchanges regarding any material financial impact once clearer visibility emerges.
