Mumbai, June 12 – There has been a broad decline across newly listed stocks. Nifty IPO index is down 0.56%  to 2,029.40 as of 12:22 PM on June 12. Out of 106 constituents, 87 were in red, while 17 managed gains, and 2 remained unchanged.

The index slid to a low of 2,027.45, opened at 2,048.45 and touched an intraday high of 2,054.70 by this time. This is about 15% below its 52-week high of 2,387.55 and just over 25% above its normalized low of 1,617.15. The index is still up 7.91% over the last 30 days, but it essentially flatlined after one year (+0.28%). The index tracks the performance of the past 100 IPOs listed on NSE.

In particular, Innova Captab Ltd., which was listed in December 2023, led the way with a 7.17 per cent climb. The sector contributors of pharma companies, Senores and Agarwal’s, are also among the success stories, consistent with the sector’s resilience, in healthcare.

Market Sentiment

The weakened market is facing a major decline, and Nifty shows a broader decline, 50 down 0.40% at 25,040.40. Newly listed companies behave cautiously and proceed with safe investments, while many remain far from all-time highs.

Technical Snapshot

While the Nifty IPO index is down today, it remains in a short-term uptrend, up nearly 8% in the past month. However, overall weakness across many newer IPOs and a lack of institutional buying pressure as we progressed into mid-session today have dragged down the intraday outlook.
