Nifty, Sensex start the day in green; IT shares gain

Indian equity markets have started the day in green today. At 9:45 a.m. IST, 12^th November, 2025, Nifty 50 index is up 148.10 points or 0.58%. Sensex is up by 313.65 points or 0.37%. Market sentiments have got a boost from US President Donald Trump’s statement that US may soon reduce tariffs on India. This has increased hopes of India and US reaching a trade deal soon. Market volatility is therefore sharply down today. Nifty India VIX index is down by 4.06% at this time. This indicates that markets are expecting volatility to go down sharply over the next 30 days.

Tech Mahindra, TCS shares up by more than 1%

All the broad market indices are in green at this time. Nifty Smallcap 50 index is up by 0.70%. Among sectoral indices, Nifty Auto index is the top gainer at this time. It is up by 1.41%. Auto stocks including Hyundai Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors etc. are in green at this time. Nifty IT index is up by 1.40%. Nifty PSU Bank index is up by 1.18% at this time. All the major IT stocks are gaining at this time. Tech Mahindra shares are up by 1.72%. TCS shares are up by 1.68%.

Among sectoral indices, only Nifty FMCG index and Nifty Healthcare index are down at this time. Nifty FMCG index is down by 0.11%.

Top gainers & losers

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 at this time are Adani Enterprises, Eternal and Adani Ports. Top 3 losers are JSW Steel, Shriram Finance and SBI Life.

Market breadth strongly positive

Market breadth is strongly positive at this time. At NSE 1856 stocks are gaining at this time. 826 stocks are declining. Advance-to-Decline ratio is 2.24. 58 stocks have touched 52-week high at NSE by this time today. 37 stocks have touched 52-week low.
