Nifty 50 and Sensex are in green after starting the day in red.  At 10:35 a.m. IST, Nifty 50 is up by 73.05 points or 0.28%. Sensex is up by 183 points or 0.22%.  Markets had already factored in a 25 basis point rate cut by US Federal Reserve. As expected, the US central bank announced a 25 basis point rate cut yesterday. There was no surprise on this front. Notably, two of Federal Reserve board members voted against the rate cut. One of the board members voted for a 50 basis point rate cut.

Among broad market indices, Nifty Midcap 50 index is the top gainer at this time. It is up by 0.25%. Nifty Microcap 250 index is the top loser at this time. It is down by 0.67%. Nifty Metal index is the top gainer among sectoral indices, at this time. It is up by 0.88%. Nifty Auto index is up by 063%.

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 at this time are Eternal, Kotak Bank and Jio Financial Services. Top 3 losers are Trent, Bharti Airtel and Asian Paint. Eternal shares are up by 2.49% at this time. The stock is gaining today after the decline of the past 2-3 days. Eternal shares declined after a block deal worth Rs 1,535 crores took place in the shares of the company on December, 8th . This deal took place at an average price of Rs 290.4 per share.
