NMDC Steel Share Price Falls 5.45% After Reporting Q2 FY26 Loss At ₹114.78 Crore

Hyderabad, October 29: NMDC Steel share price witnessing negative investor demand today, on October 29. At the market close, NMDC Steel shares ended 5.45%, or 2.60 points lower at ₹45.07. The shares made an intraday high of ₹49.65 and a low of ₹44.39. The traded volume for the NMDC Steel stock stood at 2.97 crore shares, with the company’s market cap at ₹13,970 crore. The shares have their 52-week high at ₹50.39 and their 52-week low at ₹32.13.
NMDC Steel Limited is an Indian company that is engaged in manufacturing of steel products. The company was established in 2015, and is headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana. The shares of the company are listed on NSE with the ticker symbol NSLNISP and on BSE with the code 543768.
Key Trigger: Mixed Q2 FY26 and Half-Yearly Financial Performance
In Q2 FY26, the company’s revenue from operations rose by 123% to ₹3,389.90 crore compared to ₹1,522.35 crore in Q2 FY25. It increased 0.7% at ₹3,365.22 crore in Q1 FY26. Total income grew 122% YoY to ₹3,411.03 crore, while total expenses increased 52% YoY to ₹3,593.68 crore. The company reported a pre-tax loss of ₹182.65 crore in Q2 FY26, against a loss of ₹828.93 crore in Q2 FY25. Although still a loss, the amount of loss improved by 78%. The net loss reduced 81% YoY to ₹114.78 crore, down from ₹595.37 crore last year. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹(0.39) compared to ₹(2.03) in Q2 FY25.
For the first half of FY26, revenue from operations increased 90.6% YoY to ₹6,755.12 crore, compared to ₹3,545.26 crore in H1 FY25. Net Loss reduced to ₹89.22 crore from ₹1,142.62 crore in the same period last year, which is an improvement of 92%. The total comprehensive loss for H1 FY26 stood at ₹89.22 crore against ₹1,142.62 crore in H1 FY25.
On the balance sheet side, borrowings decreased to ₹5,298.63 crore as of 30 September 2025 from ₹5,897.64 crore at the end of March 2025. Net worth stood at ₹13,025.26 crore, lower than ₹13,114.48 crore recorded earlier. The debt-equity ratio increased to 0.41 from 0.45. However, both the Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) and Interest Service Coverage Ratio (ISCR) were weak at 0.13 and (0.42) respectively.
