Mumbai, 29 July 2025: The highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO) of National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) is set to open for public subscription on 30 July 2025 and close on 1 August 2025. As one of India’s leading market infrastructure institutions, NSDL plays a pivotal role in managing dematerialised securities, and its IPO has generated substantial investor interest due to its strong financials and operational track record.

Key NSDL IPO Dates: Bidding Window, Allotment Schedule, and Listing Timeline

Investors looking to participate in the NSDL IPO should take note of the carefully scheduled sequence of events. The IPO bidding will be open from 30 July to 1 August 2025, with anchor investors getting exclusive access a day earlier on 29 July 2025.

The allotment of shares is expected to be finalised by 4 August 2025, followed by the credit of shares to investors’ demat accounts on 5 August 2025. The shares of NSDL are scheduled to be listed on BSE on 6 August 2025, allowing retail and institutional investors to begin trading.

NSDL IPO Price Band Fixed at ₹760-₹800; Retail Investors Can Start with ₹13,680

The NSDL IPO is a pure Offer for Sale (OFS) of 5.01 crore shares, aggregating up to ₹4,011.60 crore. Existing shareholders, including IDBI Bank and NSE Investments, will offload their stakes, while NSDL will not receive any proceeds. The primary objective is to list the equity shares on the BSE and unlock value for current investors.

  • Price Band: ₹760 to ₹800 per equity share
  • Face Value: ₹2 per share
  • Lot Size: 18 shares
  • Minimum Investment for Retail: ₹13,680 (1 lot)

Investor category-wise minimum bids:

  • Retail Investors: 1 lot (18 shares) – ₹13,680
  • sNII (Small Non-Institutional Investors): 14 lots (252 shares) – ₹2,01,600
  • bNII (Big Non-Institutional Investors): 70 lots (1,260 shares) – ₹10,08,000

An employee discount of ₹76 per share is being offered to eligible staff.

Core Business and Competitive Strengths

Incorporated in 2012, NSDL is one of India’s two central securities depositories, operating under the regulatory oversight of SEBI as a Market Infrastructure Institution (MII). The company offers a wide array of services, such as dematerialisation and safekeeping of securitiestrade settlementoff-market transferscorporate actionsasset servicinge-Voting, and consolidated account statements.
