Oriental Rail Infrastructure secured a ₹3.36 crore order from Indian Railways’ Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli to manufacture seat and berth assemblies for LWS DDG coaches.

Mumbai July, 22: Oriental Rail Infrastructure Ltd. has secured another order from Indian Railways, with the company receiving a ₹3.36 crore contract from the Modern Coach Factory (MCF), Raebareli, for the supply of coach seating components.
The order covers the manufacture of 50 sets of seat and berth assemblies for LWS DDG coaches, according to a regulatory filing made on Tuesday.
While the contract is relatively small compared with large EPC or infrastructure awards, it adds to the company’s steady stream of business from Indian Railways’ coach production units, where repeat orders remain an important source of revenue.
The order is scheduled to be executed by March 2, 2027.
Payment Linked To Execution Milestones
As per the contract terms, payments will be released in stages based on work completed and certified by the customer. The balance payment will be made after the successful completion of the order.
The company also clarified that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and that neither its promoters nor promoter group companies have any interest in the awarding authority. It further stated that the transaction is not a related-party deal.
For Oriental Rail, orders of this nature help keep manufacturing lines engaged and strengthen its relationship with Indian Railways’ production facilities, particularly as coach manufacturing continues across multiple units.
Stock Market Snapshot
Oriental Rail Infrastructure share price was trading at ₹109.00 as of 2:42 PM IST on July 22.
Despite the order announcement, the stock remained subdued during the afternoon session, suggesting investors viewed the contract as operationally positive but not material enough to alter near-term earnings expectations.
Company Background
Oriental Rail Infrastructure manufactures railway coach interiors and components, including seats, berths, flooring, panels and other passenger comfort systems. The company supplies products primarily to Indian Railways and its coach manufacturing units, where replacement demand and fresh coach production continue to generate recurring business opportunities.
Conclusion
The latest order may not significantly change Oriental Rail’s revenue profile on its own, but it reinforces the company’s presence in the railway supply chain. More importantly, it reflects continued order flow from Indian Railways’ manufacturing ecosystem, providing incremental visibility for its execution pipeline through early 2027.
