Mumbai, August 28, 2025 – After the first day of the ₹46 crore IPO of Oval Projects Engineering Limited, the total subscription was 0.59 times, demonstrating a lukewarm response. The issue recorded a subscription of 0.13 times in the retail individual investor category, 2.88 times in the QIB (excluding anchor investors) category, and 0.31 times in the NII category.
Subscription Status on Day 1
QIBs (ex-anchor investors) subscribed 2.88 times with 18,00,000 shares bid. Anchor investors were fully subscribed with 9,36,000 shares bid. Non-institutional buyers remained quite subdued at 0.31 times with 4,43,200 shares bid. Retail participation was also quite weak at 0.13 times with 2,88,000 shares bid.
Implication for Retail Investors
There are both opportunities and a word of caution for the retail investors, based on the day 1 trends. As only 13% of the retail quota is fulfilled, there is still a chance for small investors to apply in the issue. On the other hand, the lukewarm response also points toward cautious investor sentiment, so retail investors should carefully assess fundamentals before subscribing.
Outlook
Day 1 saw strong institutional demand but a slow start from retail investors. With three days left, subscription momentum will be crucial to gauge broader investor appetite.
