Petrol, Diesel Prices Today, August 6: Check Latest Fuel Rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Other Cities 

Mumbai, August 6: Petrol and diesel prices saw mixed revisions across major Indian cities on Thursday, August 6, with fuel rates increasing in some locations while remaining unchanged or easing in others. Petrol prices rose in Mumbai, Chennai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad, while Bengaluru, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram recorded declines. Diesel prices followed a similar trend, with hikes in Mumbai, Chennai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad, sharp increases in Chandigarh, and price cuts in Bengaluru, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram. 

Crude oil prices edged lower on Thursday as signs of progress in talks between Iran and Oman fuelled optimism over a broader U.S.-Iran peace agreement. 

Brent crude futures slipped 0.09% to $79.40 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 0.2% to $75.00 a barrel.  

Market participants are closely tracking negotiations involving Iran and Oman, which have raised hopes that the five-month conflict between the U.S. and Iran could move towards a resolution. A potential agreement could eventually lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route through which around one-fifth of global oil consumption passes. Investors are also monitoring U.S. inventory data, which showed an unexpected build in crude stockpiles. 

Here’s a city-wise look at the latest petrol and diesel prices across metro cities and state capitals. 

Petrol Prices 

Petrol prices were revised across several Indian cities on Thursday, with rates witnessing a mixed trend. While prices remained unchanged in New Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Patna, motorists in cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad saw marginal increases. Meanwhile, Bengaluru, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram recorded price cuts. 

Among the four metros, petrol continued to be the cheapest in New Delhi at ₹102.12 per litre, followed by Chennai at ₹107.97. Prices stood at ₹111.31 in Mumbai, up by 10 paise, while Kolkata saw a similar increase, taking the retail price to ₹113.61 per litre. 

Outside the metros, Gurgaon recorded a 31-paise increase to ₹103.28 per litre, while Noida saw prices rise by 16 paiseto ₹102.12. Hyderabad posted a sharper increase of ₹1.38, taking petrol prices to ₹117.07 per litre. Chandigarh witnessed the biggest jump among major cities, with rates climbing ₹4.39 to ₹105.93 per litre. 

On the downside, Bengaluru registered a 75-paise decline, bringing petrol prices down to ₹110.93 per litre. Jaipur saw rates ease by 50 paise to ₹112.69, while Thiruvananthapuram recorded the steepest cut among state capitals, with prices falling ₹1.30 to ₹114.19 per litre. Lucknow, meanwhile, witnessed a marginal increase of 3 paise, taking petrol prices to ₹101.89 per litre. 

Diesel Prices 

Diesel prices witnessed mixed revisions across major Indian cities on Thursday, with rates remaining unchanged in several locations while increasing in others. New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow and Patna saw no change in diesel prices, whereas cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Chandigarh recorded increases. Bengaluru, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram, meanwhile, saw prices decline. 

Among the four metros, New Delhi continued to have the lowest diesel price at ₹95.20 per litre, unchanged from the previous day. Diesel was priced at ₹97.97 in Mumbai, up by 14 paise, while Chennai recorded a 19-paise increase to ₹99.74 per litre. In Kolkata, prices edged up by 9 paise to ₹99.91 per litre. 

Outside the metros, Gurgaon witnessed a 30-paise increase, taking diesel prices to ₹95.94 per litre, while Noida saw rates rise by 12 paise to ₹95.56. Hyderabad registered a ₹1.40 increase, with diesel retailing at ₹105.22 per litre. Chandigarh recorded the sharpest jump among major cities, with prices surging ₹6.35 to ₹95.82 per litre. 

On the other hand, Bengaluru saw diesel prices fall by 76 paise to ₹98.80 per litre. Jaipur recorded a 47-paise decline to ₹97.78, while Thiruvananthapuram posted the steepest reduction among the listed cities, with diesel prices dropping ₹1.32 to ₹103.08 per litre. Lucknow and Patna remained unchanged at ₹95.36 and ₹99.36 per litre, respectively.
