Mumbai, July 3: Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across India’s major metro cities and state capitals on Friday, with fuel rates holding steady in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Gurugram and Noida.

However, a handful of cities witnessed revisions, with Bhubaneswar recording the sharpest increase in both petrol and diesel prices, while Bengaluru and Patna saw reductions. Kolkata remained the costliest metro for petrol, Hyderabad had the highest diesel price among metros, and New Delhi and Chandigarh continued to offer the lowest petrol and diesel rates, respectively.

Oil prices inched higher on Friday as investors cautiously welcomed ongoing peace efforts between the United States and Iran, although gains remained limited amid expectations of higher crude supplies from Gulf producers.

Brent crude futures rose 0.6% to $72.2 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gained 0.4% to $69 a barrel.

Crude prices have retreated sharply from the highs seen during the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran after diplomatic efforts reduced fears of prolonged supply disruptions in the Middle East.

Market participants remain cautiously optimistic that the ceasefire and ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran will hold, although traders continue to watch for concrete signs that the agreement is translating into stable oil flows.

Here are the latest city-wise fuel prices.
