Petrol, Diesel Prices Today, July 31, 2026: Check Fuel Rates In Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon, Noida 

Mumbai, July 31: Petrol and diesel prices today remained largely stable across major Indian cities, with rates unchanged in several metros. While Bengaluru recorded the sharpest declines in both petrol and diesel prices, Lucknow saw the biggest increases.  

Oil prices fell as traders weighed ongoing geopolitical risks in the Middle East against signs that crude supplies could recover once tensions ease. Brent crude declined 1% at $88.2 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate declined 1.5% to $82.3. 

The decline came as Saudi Arabia moved to build a 14-nation maritime defence coalition aimed at strengthening security around key shipping routes, including the Red Sea, Bab El-Mandeb Strait and Gulf of Aden. The initiative comes after Iran-aligned Houthi militants declared a naval blockade targeting Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over crude shipments through an alternative route to the Strait of Hormuz. 

Oil markets also tracked diplomatic efforts around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway that normally handles around one-fifth of global oil and LNG flows. Talks between Iran and Oman over the management of the strait have raised hopes that shipping routes could eventually reopen, although continued military strikes have kept a risk premium embedded in crude prices. 

Supply concerns remained elevated as disruptions spread across several key energy routes and facilities. Tankers scheduled to load at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal in the Black Sea were reportedly moving away after a vessel was hit during loading, while a drone attack also damaged a unit at Russia’s Perm refinery. However, traders expect additional supplies to return to the market if the Middle East conflict de-escalates, limiting the scope for a sustained surge in oil prices.

Petrol Prices 

Petrol prices remained largely stable across major Indian cities on Friday, with New Delhi retaining its rate at ₹102.12 per litre and Mumbai at ₹111.21. Kolkata saw a marginal increase of 3 paise to ₹113.51, while Chennai’s petrol price rose 1 paise to ₹107.78. 

Among the major cities, Bengaluru recorded the steepest decline, with petrol becoming 75 paise cheaper at ₹110.93 per litre. Gurgaon saw a 22-paise reduction to ₹102.75, while Noida and Patna both recorded a 16-paise decline, bringing prices to ₹101.96 and ₹113.37, respectively. 

Lucknow witnessed the sharpest increase among the cities tracked, with petrol prices rising ₹1.12 to ₹102.68 per litre. Hyderabad also saw a marginal increase of 4 paise to ₹115.73, while Kolkata and Chennai recorded smaller increases. 

Petrol prices were unchanged in Bhubaneswar at ₹108.97, Chandigarh at ₹101.54 and Jaipur at ₹113.97. Thiruvananthapuram recorded a 23-paise decline to ₹115.26. Among the cities listed, Hyderabad had the highest petrol price at ₹115.73 per litre, while Chandigarh recorded the lowest at ₹101.54. 

Diesel Prices 

Diesel prices remained largely unchanged across major Indian cities on Friday, with rates holding steady in New Delhi at ₹95.20 per litre, Kolkata at ₹99.82 and Mumbai at ₹97.83. Chennai recorded a marginal increase of 1 paise, taking the price to ₹99.56 per litre. 

Bengaluru saw the sharpest decline among the major cities, with diesel becoming 76 paise cheaper at ₹98.80 per litre. Gurgaon recorded a 22-paise reduction to ₹95.42, while Noida’s price fell 12 paise to ₹95.44. Patna also saw a decline of 18 paise, bringing the rate to ₹99.36 per litre. 

Lucknow recorded the biggest increase among the cities tracked, with diesel prices rising ₹1.04 to ₹96.10 per litre. Rates remained unchanged in Hyderabad at ₹103.82, Jaipur at ₹98.96 and Bhubaneswar at ₹100.68. Chandigarh also saw no change, with diesel priced at ₹89.47 per litre. 

Thiruvananthapuram recorded a 38-paise decline to ₹104.02 per litre. Among the cities listed, Thiruvananthapuram had the highest diesel price, followed by Hyderabad, while Chandigarh recorded the lowest rate at ₹89.47 per litre.
