Petrol, Diesel Prices Today, September 15, 2026: Check City-Wise Fuel Rates In Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai

Mumbai, September 15: Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across major Indian cities and state capitals on Tuesday, September 15, with Jaipur recording the most notable movement in both fuels. Petrol prices stood at ₹102.12 per litre in New Delhi, while diesel was priced at ₹95.20 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel rates remained at ₹111.21 and ₹97.83 per litre, respectively. Kolkata and Chennai also reported steady fuel prices, while consumers in Jaipur saw petrol and diesel prices rise by ₹0.53 and ₹0.47 per litre, respectively. 

Oil prices rose on Tuesday as fresh attacks on Saudi Arabia and the shutdown of a key crude pipeline heightened concerns over disruptions to global supplies, while diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East showed little progress. 

Brent crude futures rose 1.2% to $107 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude gained 1.5% to $103 a barrel. Both benchmarks had gained in the previous session as escalating geopolitical tensions continued to raise the risk premium in oil markets. 

Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline remains offline after attacks disrupted the key route, which allows the world’s biggest oil exporter to bypass the Strait of Hormuz and transport crude to the Red Sea port of Yanbu. 

The pipeline can move around 4 million barrels per day, equivalent to roughly 4% of global oil supply. Traders are increasingly concerned that a prolonged outage could leave Saudi Arabia with limited options to maintain exports, potentially tightening an already-constrained global market. 

The latest supply concerns came after Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen launched missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia on Monday. The strikes targeted a military airbase in southern Saudi Arabia and followed attacks last week that disrupted the East-West pipeline. 

At the same time, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has remained severely disrupted. Commodity vessel traffic fell to fewer than 10 transits a day over the weekend, compared with a 10-day average of 14, adding to concerns around a route that previously carried about one-fifth of global oil and LNG supplies. 

Analysts said the duration of the Saudi pipeline outage will be critical for oil prices. A prolonged disruption could push crude higher as traders price in the possibility of a larger loss of supply. 

For India, sustained crude prices above $100 a barrel remain a major concern as the country relies heavily on imports to meet its oil requirements. Higher prices could put pressure on the rupee, inflation and the country’s trade balance while raising costs for fuel-consuming sectors. 

Petrol Prices 

Petrol prices remained unchanged across most major Indian metro cities and state capitals on Tuesday, with New Delhi retailing petrol at ₹102.12 per litre. Prices were also steady in Kolkata at ₹113.51, Mumbai at ₹111.21 and Chennai at ₹107.76 per litre. 

Among other major cities, petrol was priced at ₹102.97 per litre in Gurgaon, ₹101.96 in Noida and ₹111.68 in Bangalore. Consumers in Bhubaneswar paid ₹108.97 per litre, while the rate stood at ₹101.54 in Chandigarh and ₹116.15 in Hyderabad. 

Petrol prices were also unchanged in Lucknow at ₹101.86 per litre, Patna at ₹113.37 and Thiruvananthapuram at ₹115.49. Jaipur was the only city in the list to record a notable increase, with prices rising ₹0.53 to ₹113.19 per litre. 

Meanwhile, petrol prices in Lucknow declined marginally by ₹0.03 per litre, while rates in the remaining cities were unchanged. Fuel prices in India are revised by oil marketing companies based on international crude oil prices and other factors, with state-level taxes also contributing to differences in retail rates. 

Diesel Prices 

Diesel prices remained unchanged across most major Indian metro cities and state capitals on Tuesday, with New Delhirecording a diesel price of ₹95.20 per litre. Rates were also steady in Kolkata at ₹99.82, Mumbai at ₹97.83 and Chennai at ₹99.55 per litre. 

Among other major cities, diesel was priced at ₹95.64 per litre in Gurgaon and ₹95.44 in Noida, while consumers in Bangalore paid ₹99.56 per litre. The rate stood at ₹100.68 in Bhubaneswar, ₹89.47 in Chandigarh and ₹104.23 in Hyderabad. 

Diesel prices were unchanged in Lucknow at ₹95.36 per litre, Patna at ₹99.36 and Thiruvananthapuram at ₹104.40. Jaipur was the only city in the list to record a change, with diesel prices rising ₹0.47 to ₹98.25 per litre. 

Overall, diesel prices remained largely stable across the cities tracked, with only Jaipur witnessing a notable movement. Retail fuel prices vary across states and cities due to differences in local taxes and other charges, while oil marketing companies also take into account global crude oil prices and currency movements when determining fuel rates.
