Mumbai, October 9: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has completed commissioning of the Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Bidar (2,500 MW), Karnataka, with commercial operations taking effect on October 5, 2026.

According to the exchange filing, the project was commissioned through POWERGRID Bidar Transmission Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India. The subsidiary was amalgamated with POWERGRID Khavda II-C Transmission Limited with effect from March 1, 2026, following an order dated January 27, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The company received the Notification for Commercial Operation Date (DOCO), dated October 5, 2026, by email on October 8. The transmission scheme is designed to support the evacuation of power from a 2,500 MW solar energy zone in Bidar, Karnataka.
