Mumbai, July 13:India’s primary market will see one of its biggest public issues of the year open for bidding tomorrow as SBI Funds Management Ltd launches its ₹9,812.91 crore initial public offering. The book-built issue will open for subscription on July 14 and remain available for investors until July 16.

The SBI Funds Management Ltd IPO is entirely an offer for sale (OFS) comprising 17,09,56,631 equity shares, which means the proceeds from the issue will go to the selling shareholders instead of the company. Given the company’s strong position in India’s mutual fund industry, the issue is expected to draw close attention from institutional as well as retail investors once bidding begins.

SBI Funds Management is India’s largest asset management company by assets under management and manages the well-known SBI Mutual Fund franchise. Its market position makes this one of the most closely watched IPOs scheduled to open this month.

Price Band and Minimum Investment

The company has fixed the price band at ₹545 to ₹574 per share.

Retail investors can apply for a minimum of 26 shares, requiring an investment of ₹14,924 at the upper end of the price band.

For S-HNI investors, the minimum application is 364 shares, translating into an investment of ₹2,08,936, while B-HNI investors will need to bid for at least 1,768 shares, amounting to ₹10,14,832.

Issue Structure

The public issue is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS) worth ₹9,812.91 crore.

Unlike a fresh issue, no new shares are being issued. As a result, SBI Funds Management will not receive any proceeds from the IPO, with the sale proceeds going to the existing shareholders participating in the offer.

Investor Reservation

The issue has been reserved as follows:

  • Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs): Up to 50% of the offer.
  • Retail Individual Investors (RIIs): Not less than 35%.
  • Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs): Not less than 15%.

What Investors Should Watch

Since subscriptions begin only on July 14, investors will be watching the first day’s bidding trends across retail, non-institutional and institutional categories. Demand from anchor-backed institutional investors and the response from retail participants will offer the first indication of market appetite for this large public issue.

Given the size of the IPO and the company’s leadership in India’s mutual fund industry, subscription data over the three-day bidding window will remain in focus.

Conclusion

The SBI Funds Management IPO opens for subscription on July 14, giving investors an opportunity to participate in one of the largest public offerings of the year. With a price band of ₹545-574 per share, a ₹9,812.91 crore issue size and a tentative listing scheduled for July 21, market participants will closely monitor subscription trends once bidding gets underway.
