Mumbai August, 31: Sterlite Technologies Limited has signed a three-year long-term supply agreement with a leading international hyperscaler valued at approximately $288 million, with its shares gaining 1.28% in morning trade.
According to the company’s exchange disclosure dated August 29, 2026, the agreement covers the supply of high-density optical fibre cable products to the hyperscaler from calendar year 2027 through 2029.
The purchases will be released periodically during the contract period, with product allocation based on the customer’s requirements and specifications for each calendar year.
The agreement also introduces a reciprocal risk-sharing framework between the two parties. Under the arrangement, mutual and capped financial liabilities will apply if there are demand shortfalls or supply-capacity shortages.
The company has classified the counterparty as an international entity and the arrangement as a long-term supply agreement.
Stock Market Snapshot
Sterlite Technologies shares were trading at ₹733 as of 10:26:39 AM IST on August 31, 2026, up ₹9.25, or 1.28%, according to the market data provided.
The stock opened around ₹754 before moving lower during the morning session and briefly slipping below ₹720. It subsequently recovered and moved back above ₹730.
Sterlite Technologies share price was holding a 1.28% gain at the cited timestamp, as the market assessed the significance of the newly disclosed multi-year supply arrangement.

Deal Covers High-Density Optical Fibre Products
The contract is centred on high-density optical fibre cable products, which are to be supplied in line with the hyperscaler’s technical specifications and annual requirements.
The three-year agreement runs across CY27, CY28 and CY29, with an option to extend it by another two years if both parties agree.
The company has disclosed the broad value of the arrangement at approximately $288 million. The filing does not provide a quarter-by-quarter revenue schedule, with purchases instead expected to be released periodically over the contract period.
Hyperscaler Deal Strengthens Data Infrastructure Exposure
Sterlite Technologies operates across optical and digital connectivity infrastructure, with optical fibre and cable products forming a core part of its business.
The latest agreement places the company in a multi-year supply relationship with a leading hyperscaler, linking its optical connectivity products to the infrastructure requirements of a large international technology customer.
The contract’s risk-sharing provisions are also notable. Rather than committing either party to unlimited exposure, the agreement sets mutual and capped financial liabilities around potential demand or supply-capacity shortfalls.
Three-Year Visibility From 2027
The agreement provides a defined supply framework beginning in 2027 and extending through 2029, with the possibility of a further two-year extension subject to mutual consent.
Sterlite Technologies did not disclose the identity of the hyperscaler in the exchange filing. It also stated that promoter or promoter-group interest and related-party transaction details were not applicable to the arrangement.
The company now has a long-term supply commitment valued at approximately $288 million, although actual order releases will take place periodically over the contract period.
Conclusion
The agreement gives Sterlite Technologies a sizeable multi-year supply opportunity in high-density optical fibre products while adding visibility across CY27 to CY29.
The financial value is approximately $288 million, but the company has indicated that purchases will be released periodically rather than as a single order. Shares were up 1.28% at ₹733 as of 10:26:39 AM IST on August 31, 2026.
