New Delhi, Oct 15: Here are five stocks in focus on Thursday, from Reliance Industries’ filing of the Jio Platforms IPO prospectus to a threefold jump in MRPL’s profit, a Rs 101.56 crore Gujarat order at Om Power Transmission, Bajaj Consumer Care’s strong September-quarter results and Hyundai Motor India’s new Pune plant. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the session.

Reliance Industries (RELIANCE)

Reliance Industries (RELIANCE) has filed the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) for the initial public offering (IPO) of its subsidiary, Jio Platforms (JPL), with the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat, at Ahmedabad. The IPO will open for subscription on Wednesday, October 21, and close on Friday, October 23, with anchor bidding on Monday, October 19. The JPL board’s IPO committee has set a price band of Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 per share, a minimum bid lot of 12 shares and a discount of Rs 54 per share for eligible employees.

The IPO is a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares, which works out to about Rs 30,213 crore at the cap price, by calculation. Up to Rs 500 crore is reserved for eligible employees and up to Rs 2,500 crore for eligible Reliance shareholders. RIL, which holds 66.43 per cent in JPL, closed at Rs 1,174.60 on Wednesday, up 0.68 per cent from Rs 1,166.70, though the stock is down about 26 per cent this year.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL)

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL), a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), reported a nearly threefold rise in standalone net profit to Rs 1,881 crore for the September quarter of FY27, from Rs 639 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 37.1 per cent to Rs 35,590 crore from Rs 25,953 crore, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) more than doubled to Rs 3,210 crore from Rs 1,565 crore.

The operating margin widened to 8.82 per cent from 4.93 per cent, even though refinery throughput slipped to 4.18 million metric tonnes from 4.43 million tonnes. The board declared a first interim dividend of Rs 3 per share, with a record date of October 21. Standalone profit for the first half was Rs 2,796 crore, and investors will track whether the margin gains hold.

Om Power Transmission (OMPOWER)

Om Power Transmission (OMPOWER) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Uttar Gujarat Vij Company for a turnkey contract worth Rs 101.56 crore, including GST. The contract involves converting the existing electrical line network into an underground cable network, along with associated works, in Ambaji.

The order is to be executed within 12 months after a commencement period of 45 days. It was awarded by a domestic entity and is not a related party transaction. A contract’s value does not translate directly into profit, so investors will track execution timelines.

Bajaj Consumer Care (BAJAJCON)

Bajaj Consumer Care (BAJAJCON) reported a 65.9 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 70.2 crore for the September quarter, compared with Rs 42.3 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations grew about 25 per cent to Rs 332.8 crore.

EBITDA rose 71 per cent to Rs 83.3 crore, and the EBITDA margin improved to 25 per cent from 18.6 per cent. Domestic business revenue grew over 30 per cent. Investors will watch whether the margin gains hold in coming quarters.

Hyundai Motor India (HYUNDAI)

Hyundai Motor India (HYUNDAI) has inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, its first major manufacturing expansion outside Tamil Nadu. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the plant on Wednesday, in the presence of Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung. The company plans to invest Rs 11,000 crore in the facility in phases.

The plant has an installed annual capacity of 1.7 lakh units, which is to rise to 3.2 lakh units by 2030, taking combined capacity across Pune and Chennai to nearly 11.4 lakh units. It will make the all-new Venue for global markets, with exports planned to over 35 countries. The Rs 11,000 crore is a facility-specific commitment, separate from the group’s $15.5 billion India plan announced earlier this week.
