Mumbai, October 26: Shares of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), Vodafone Idea Ltd, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd and PC Jeweller Ltd were the most traded stocks by volume on the NSE on Monday, October 26. MRPL surged 8.81% after strong September-quarter earnings prompted a brokerage to retain its ‘Buy’ rating, while Vodafone Idea gained 2.90%, snapping a four-session losing streak. Jaiprakash Power Ventures rose 3.08%, rebounding after four sessions of losses, while PC Jeweller slipped 1.39% for a third straight session despite reporting a 58% year-on-year increase in September-quarter net profit.

PC Jeweller Limited (down 1.39%)

Shares of PC Jeweller Ltd continued to decline for a third day on Monday day after the company reported a 58% year-on-year increase in net profit for the September quarter last week.

PC Jeweller has been among the market’s standout performers in 2026, with the stock gaining 91% so far this year. The substantial rally has put the jewellery maker in focus as investors track its financial recovery and efforts to strengthen its balance sheet.

The company’s improving financial position has been a key factor driving investor interest. PC Jeweller has declared itself debt-free following a one-time settlement with its lender banks, marking a significant step in its efforts to reduce liabilities and improve financial stability.

Market participants will now watch whether PC Jeweller can maintain its earnings momentum, sustain its financial recovery and benefit from demand in the jewellery sector.

Vodafone Idea Limited (up 2.90%)

Shares of Vodafone Idea rose on Monday, snapping a four-session losing streak, as investors assessed the implications of Jio Platforms’ Rs 30,188-crore IPO. Jio Platforms fixed the issue price at Rs 1,119 per share, the upper end of its price band, ahead of its scheduled October 28 listing. The issue closed on Friday after attracting strong investor demand.

Jio Platforms, the telecom and digital services arm of Reliance Industries, launched its IPO on Wednesday with a price band of Rs 1,065-1,119 per share. The offering is India’s largest public issue to date and marks Reliance’s return to the IPO market after two decades.

Jio’s impending stock market debut comes amid intense competition in India’s telecom sector. Since entering the market in 2016 with aggressively priced voice and data services, the company has expanded its subscriber base and strengthened its position against rivals Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel.

For Vodafone Idea, the listing has brought renewed focus on competitive pressures and the financial challenges facing telecom operators. Investors will monitor subscriber additions, revenue growth, funding requirements and the company’s ability to invest in network infrastructure while competing with better-capitalised rivals. The sustainability of the stock’s recovery will depend on operational performance, fundraising prospects and its financial position.

Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (up 3.08%)

Shares of Jaiprakash Power Ventures rose on Monday, rebounding after four consecutive sessions of losses. The stock had come under pressure following the company’s September-quarter results, which showed a sharp decline in net profit both year-on-year and sequentially.

The power producer’s shares have fallen 33.6% over the past six months.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (up 8.81%)

Shares of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) surged on Monday after a brokerage retained its ‘Buy’ rating following strong September-quarter earnings. MRPL reported a 43.6% year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹32,500 crore in Q2 FY27, while adjusted net profit rose to ₹2,019.5 crore from ₹627.4 crore a year earlier. The brokerage expects elevated diesel prices to support earnings in the second half of FY27. It projects the company’s FY27 EBITDA and profit after tax to rise 122% and 349%, respectively. However, MRPL also recognised a provisional exceptional loss of ₹118.76 crore following a fire at its Coker Hydrotreater unit.
