New Delhi, Oct 21: Here are five stocks in focus on Wednesday, from Reliance Industries whose digital arm Jio Platforms is IPO-ing today to a ₹47.40 crore order for RailTel to an expanded Truist tie-up for Infosys to a sharp profit jump at Hindustan Zinc to a mycoprotein licensing deal for Dhampur Bio Organics. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the session.
Reliance Industries (RELIANCE)
The initial public offering (IPO) of Jio Platforms, the digital services arm of Reliance Industries, will open for subscription today and close on Friday, October 23. With a price band of ₹1,065-1,119 per share, the company could raise as much as ₹30,213 crore if the shares are allotted at the upper end of the price band. This would make it the largest IPO in India. Jio Platforms would be valued at ₹10.3 lakh crore at the upper end of the price band. In FY26, Jio Platforms reported consolidated revenue of ₹1,46,885 crore and net profit of ₹30,049 crore. Investors will track subscription numbers through the day and how Reliance shares respond.
RailTel Corporation of India (RAILTEL)
RailTel Corporation of India received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd for an order valued at ₹47.40 crore, including taxes, according to its regulatory filing. The Navratna public sector enterprise operates in telecom, optical fibre networks, railway signalling and digital infrastructure services.
The award adds to a run of orders from Haryana government entities. In July, the company announced a ₹16.20 crore operation and management contract from the same agency for the Haryana State Wide Area Network, to be executed by December 31, 2027. In June, it received an ₹82.04 crore railway signalling order from Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation. Traders will look for the scope and execution timeline of the new order in the filing.
Infosys (INFY)
Infosys announced the expansion of its collaboration with Truist, one of the largest US-based financial services companies, to support the continued development of the bank’s AI-first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.
Earlier media reports, citing Mint, said Infosys had won a contract worth more than $500 million from Truist to build and operate the centre under a build-operate-transfer model, with a five-year operating period before it moves to the bank. The facility is expected to employ about 4,500 people over time, with around 2,000 hired in the first phase, and to draw on the Infosys Topaz AI platform. Investors will look for details on deal value and hiring pace in the company’s disclosure.
Hindustan Zinc (HINDZINC)
Hindustan Zinc posted a 142 per cent year-on-year jump in net profit to ₹6,412 crore for the September quarter, up from ₹2,649 crore a year earlier. The profit is about 17 per cent higher than the ₹5,469 crore reported in the June quarter, when the company recorded its highest-ever first-quarter revenue and EBITDA.
In the June quarter, EBITDA margin was about 59 per cent, with silver contributing roughly 46 per cent of profitability. The Board had declared a first interim dividend of ₹11 per share, totalling ₹4,648 crore, in April. Investors will look out for any dividend announcement and for commentary on metal prices and the FY27 refined metal production guidance of 1.1 million tonnes.
Dhampur Bio Organics (DBOL)
Dhampur Bio Organics has entered into a technology licensing agreement with Switzerland-based Planetary SA for the exclusive production of mycoprotein in India.
The pact follows an earlier non-binding term sheet under which Planetary would license its BioBlocks fermentation platform to Dhampur for co-location within the sugar producer’s existing infrastructure. Planetary has said the combination could bring the cost of mycoprotein below $1 per kilogram. Managing Director Gautam Goel had said the tie-up would be an important pillar of the company’s sugar side-stream strategy, allowing exports of raw mycoprotein and India-market products such as protein fortification solutions. Traders will watch for capacity, investment and timeline details, which were not disclosed earlier.
