New Delhi, Oct 7: Here are five stocks in focus on Wednesday, from a Blue Dart Express MoU to move parcels on the Namo Bharat corridor to 25 per cent growth for Titan to a record date for the Asian Paints interim dividend to a Rs 87.15 crore wagon order from Container Corporation of India to a 54.9 per cent jump in disbursements for Utkarsh Small Finance Bank. Here are some key points to note from today’s session.
Blue Dart Express (BLUEDART)
Blue Dart Express has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to explore express parcel movement on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. The initiative is aimed at evaluating opportunities to improve logistics and parcel transportation solutions.
The two sides will look at how Namo Bharat services can complement Blue Dart’s existing pickup and delivery network for e-commerce consignments and other cargo across the National Capital Region. The 82-km corridor has a depot at Duhai in Ghaziabad, with another being built at Modipuram in Meerut, and it serves about 1.1 lakh commuters every day. The MoU is exploratory, so investors will wait to see if it leads to a commercial service.
Titan (TITAN)
Titan registered around 25 per cent year-on-year growth in its consumer businesses in the second quarter of FY27. The company added 78 net new stores during the quarter, taking its combined retail network to 3,758 stores.
Jewellery grew about 21 per cent, while watches rose about 30 per cent and EyeCare about 28 per cent. Domestic consumer businesses grew 22 per cent and the international business grew 97 per cent, including Damas Jewellery, in which Titan holds a 67 per cent stake. Jewellery accounted for 42 of the new stores, taking its network to 1,269 stores. Investors will wait for the festive quarter update to see if this pace holds.
Asian Paints (ASIANPAINT)
Asian Paints said its board will consider the declaration of an interim dividend, if any, for the financial year ending March 2027. The record date for payment of the interim dividend, if declared, will be November 4.
The board will meet on October 29, when it will also consider the financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026. Last year the company paid an interim dividend of Rs 4.50 per share with its Q2 results. In the June quarter, consolidated net profit rose about 40 per cent to Rs 1,539 crore, and the company has kept its FY27 volume growth guidance at 8 to 10 per cent. Investors will watch the dividend amount and the volume trend.
Container Corporation of India (CONCOR)
Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has placed an order worth Rs 87.15 crore, excluding free-supply items, for the supply of 12 rakes of BLSS wagons. The order has gone to the Golden Rock Workshop of Southern Railway in Tiruchirappalli, a domestic entity.
The order value includes GST, and the wagons come with BVCM brake vans. It follows a Rs 89.09 crore order for 12 BLSS rakes placed with the Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop of Eastern Railway, disclosed on September 7. This is a purchase by CONCOR and not a revenue order for the company. Investors will look at how the new wagons add to its fleet.
Utkarsh Small Finance Bank (UTKARSHBNK)
Utkarsh Small Finance Bank reported strong Q2 FY27 business growth, with total disbursements rising 54.9 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,525 crore. Its gross loan portfolio grew 7.5 per cent to Rs 20,063 crore, while deposits increased 6.6 per cent to Rs 23,869 crore. The CASA ratio improved to 21.5 per cent.
Total disbursements were up 4.6 per cent from Rs 3,370 crore in the June quarter. Non-JLG (joint liability group) disbursements jumped 94.2 per cent to Rs 2,602 crore, and non-JLG loans now make up 74 per cent of the portfolio. CASA deposits rose 14.3 per cent to Rs 5,121 crore. The figures are provisional, and investors will wait for the full results to check asset quality.
