The ₹53.40 crore issue was subscribed 162.88 times overall, with individual investors subscribing 158.88 times, NII bids reaching 270.67 times and the QIB (Ex Anchor) portion getting 121.28 times subscription.

Mumbai, August 28: Sumax Engineering IPO ended its four-day bidding period on Friday, August 28, 2026, with investors placing bids worth several times the shares available in every major category. The ₹53.40 crore IPO, which opened on August 25, saw demand build steadily through the issue period and finished with an overall subscription of 162.88 times.
The individual investor category recorded 158.88 times subscription by the close, while the NII segment emerged as the strongest-performing category with 270.67 times subscription. The QIB (Ex Anchor) portion also saw heavy demand and was subscribed 121.28 times.
With the bidding window now closed, investors cannot place fresh applications in the IPO. The next major event on the schedule is the allotment, which is expected on August 31, followed by the tentative NSE SME listing on September 2.
Sumax Engineering IPO Subscription Details
Sumax Engineering IPO was a bookbuilding issue of ₹53.40 crore, comprising a fresh issue of 42.91 lakh shares worth around ₹43.34 crore and an offer for sale of 9.96 lakh shares amounting to about ₹10.06 crore.
The company fixed the final issue price at ₹101 per share. The IPO opened for subscription on August 25 and closed on August 28.
The issue was listed for subscription on the NSE SME platform. After the market maker portion, the net offer to the public stood at 50.21 lakh shares.
The individual investor category had 16.92 lakh shares reserved for it, while 7.27 lakh shares were set aside for NIIs and 24.10 lakh shares were available for QIBs.
Since the IPO has now closed, investors will have to wait for the allotment process rather than place any further bids.
Sumax Engineering IPO Subscription Status
At the end of Day 4, Sumax Engineering IPO had received bids for 58,40,37,600 shares against 35,85,600 shares offered for subscription, resulting in an overall subscription of 162.88 times.
The individual investor portion attracted bids for 26,88,28,800 shares against 16,92,000 shares available. This translated into a subscription of 158.88 times.
The NII category received bids for 19,68,27,600 shares against an offered quantity of 7,27,200 shares, taking the subscription to 270.67 times.
Within the NII segment, the portion for applications above ₹10 lakh was subscribed 315.60 times, while the portion for applications below ₹10 lakh received 180.80 times subscription.
The QIB (Ex Anchor) category was subscribed 121.28 times, with bids coming in for 11,81,78,400 shares against 9,74,400 shares on offer.
A total of 1,37,015 applications were recorded by the close of the issue.
Day-wise Subscription Details
Sumax Engineering IPO saw demand pick up sharply as the bidding period progressed. The issue started with a total subscription of 3.24 times on Day 1 and crossed 9 times on Day 2. By Day 3, the overall subscription had climbed to 20.80 times before a much stronger final-day response pushed it to 162.88 times.

The final-day jump was particularly notable, with strong bidding across QIBs, NIIs and individual investors pushing the overall subscription sharply higher before the issue closed.
Sumax Engineering IPO Lot Size
The minimum application size for individual investors was 2,400 shares, requiring an investment of ₹2,42,400 at the final issue price of ₹101 per share.
Investors could apply in multiples of 1,200 shares. For HNI applicants, the minimum application was three lots, or 3,600 shares, involving an investment of ₹3,63,600.

About Sumax Engineering Ltd.
Sumax Engineering was incorporated in 1994 and operates across manufacturing and trading, with a focus on products used in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and auto refinishing markets.
Its manufacturing business includes abrasive sheets and die-cuts, pre-taped masking films, rubbing and polishing compounds, buffing and foam pads, reflective tapes, domes and graphics, along with other related products.
Through its trading operations, the company supplies electrical and pneumatic tools, abrasive sheets, discs and rolls, body shop consumables, retail products, accessories and aerosol products.
Sumax Engineering IPO Key Dates
The Sumax Engineering IPO opened for subscription on August 25 and closed on August 28, 2026. The issue is now closed for subscription and investors cannot submit fresh bids.
The tentative allotment date is August 31, followed by refunds on September 1. Shares are expected to be credited to successful applicants on September 1, while the tentative listing date on the NSE SME platform is September 2, 2026.
