Tata Motors Demerger: Company to Trade as Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPV) from October 24

Mumbai, October 17: The shares of Tata Motors Limited has completed its demerger, and will soon trade under a new name. From October 24, the company name will be changed to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited. Along with the change in its name, its ticker symbol on NSE will also change to TMPV from the current TATAMOTORS.

Final Phase of Restructuring

The change in the company name and the ticker symbol is a part of the final phase of the company’s restructuring plan. Under the restructuring plan, Tata Motors has formally split its Passenger Vehicle (PV) and Commercial Vehicle (CV) divisions into two independently managed entities.

One Fully Paid-up Share of TMLCV For Every Tata Motors Share

Under the restructuring scheme, shareholders received one fully paid-up share of TMLCV for every one share held in Tata Motors. The company allotted a total of 3,68,23,31,373 shares of ₹2 each on October 15, 2025, to eligible shareholders. The record date for this corporate action was October 14, 2025.

TMLCV, which was a subsidiary of Tata Motors, will now be a separate entity. The shares of TMLCV will go through a separate listing on NSE and BSE by late November or early December this year.

The change in the company name and the change in the ticker symbol will be effective from October 24. The action is aimed at simplifying the corporate structure of Tata Motors and providing long-term value to the shareholders.
