Mumbai, July 16: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its artificial intelligence partnership with Google Cloud by launching a Gemini Experience Center in Kolkata, a dedicated facility aimed at helping consumer-facing businesses develop and deploy AI applications.

The centre will serve as a collaborative space where enterprises can experiment with Google’s Gemini models and TCS’ AI capabilities before rolling them out at scale. According to the company, it is designed to help organisations move AI initiatives beyond pilot projects and into everyday business operations.

The facility will cater to industries including retail, consumer goods, travel and hospitality. Businesses will be able to build AI-driven use cases spanning customer service, store operations, supply chain management and digital commerce.

The Kolkata launch also expands TCS’ network of Gemini Experience Centers in India to 10, reflecting what the company described as rising enterprise demand for AI-led business transformation.

Stock Market Snapshot

TCS share price traded higher after the announcement. The stock was up 1.66% at ₹2,225.60 as of 11:55 AM IST on July 16.

After a cautious start to the day, the stock gathered momentum through late morning and outperformed the broader market, suggesting investors welcomed the company’s continued push to deepen its AI capabilities and strategic cloud partnerships.

Company Background

TCS is India’s largest IT services exporter and has been steadily expanding its AI offerings through partnerships with global technology companies. Its collaboration with Google Cloud covers generative AI, cloud migration, data platforms and industry-specific digital transformation solutions.

The newly launched centre is expected to support customers by providing an environment to design, test and refine AI applications before deploying them across business operations.

Conclusion

The launch does not involve a commercial contract or disclose any financial value, but it reinforces TCS’ strategy of embedding artificial intelligence more deeply into enterprise transformation projects. As businesses move from AI experimentation to large-scale deployment, facilities such as the Gemini Experience Center are expected to play a larger role in accelerating adoption across industries.
