Copenhagen | Mumbai, September 2, 2025 — Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has deepened its relationship with Scandinavian insurer Tryg with a seven-year contract worth €550 million, to revamp the insurer’s tech core and drive its growth in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

The deal, extending a 15-year association between the two firms, will have TCS manage application development, IT infrastructure, end-user services, and security. The aim is to harmonize Tryg’s dispersed systems, most of which have been developed through acquisitions, with one, cloud- and AI-driven digital-first operating model. The initiative will cover over six million customers while supporting Tryg in realizing its long-term growth vision under the “United Towards 27” umbrella.

Modernising IT with AI and Cloud

TCS will introduce automation and AI right across Tryg’s IT operations to rationalize processes, reduce expenses, and accelerate go-to-market times for new digital offerings. By bringing functions that were previously dispersed geographically under one roof, the program will enhance efficiency, increase scalability, and create a more robust IT ecosystem capable of driving future innovation.

Leadership Speaks

Tryg Group CEO Johan Kirstein Brammer said that the partnership is at the heart of the company’s growth aspirations in Scandinavia. “We are streamlining our IT environment, which enables us to invest even more in new technologies and enhance our competitiveness. The enhanced partnership with TCS is a key milestone on our journey toward meeting our 2027 goal of expanding Tryg’s business while providing the optimal customer experiences,” he said.

K Krithivasan, TCS CEO, emphasized the need for agility and resilience in the current business scenario. “Quick adaptability is the hallmark of success. Aligning TCS’ cloud and AI strengths with our extensive insurance expertise, we will enable Tryg to become a technology-driven organization based on AI. This transaction is as much about the efficiency of today as it is about enabling Tryg for tomorrow’s opportunities,” he stated.

A Long-Standing Partnership

TCS and Tryg have collaborated for more than 15 years, with the Indian IT leader being an integral part of various phases of the insurer’s transformation process. TCS has over the years evolved customized solutions for the Nordic market, enabling Tryg to realize its business aspirations while coping with a changing technology landscape. The new deal further strengthens this collaboration, which will ensure long-term adaptability against any impending digital disruption.

TCS in the Nordics

TCS has operated in the Nordic region for over three decades, employing more than 20,000 professionals who support some of the region’s largest corporations across banking, insurance, retail, telecom, manufacturing, and life sciences. Its BFSI business group has consistently ranked #1 in customer satisfaction for eight consecutive years in an independent survey, and the company has been recognised as a Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute.
