Bengaluru, October 23, 2025: Tejas Networks Ltd (NSE: TEJASNET, BSE: 540595) has begun shipping its IP-MPLS routers and network management solutions for multiple BharatNet Phase III contracts secured by Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd (NCC). The deployments will cover Uttarakhand, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Madhya Pradesh, replacing the existing linear middle-mile architecture with a high-availability ring topology. The rollout will connect 30,841 gram panchayats and 411 block locations, enhancing network reliability and scalability across these regions.

Tejas Networks Ltd, a Tata Group-owned company, produces high-performance telecom networking products for telecom service providers, utilities, defense, and government entities in over 75 countries. Its equity shares are registered with both the NSE and the BSE.

Strengthening India’s Digital Backbone

Phase III of BharatNet aims to improve rural broadband connectivity by changing the network architecture to increase uptime and resilience. During this phase, the existing linear middle-mile will be replaced with a ring architecture, providing coverage for 30,841 gram panchayats and 411 block sites. Improved topology will offer a scalable and resilient infrastructure to accommodate core digital services like e-governance, telemedicine, and online education in rural areas.

Regional Rollout Plan

Tejas Networks had already started dispatching its IP-MPLS routers and management products to the four states under this project Madhya Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Uttarakhand, beginning a countrywide implementation exercise under BharatNet Phase III.

Management Commentary

Manoj Penmetcha, Projects Director at NCC, stated that high-quality rural broadband requires robust, scalable middle-mile networks. He further noted that Tejas Networks, with its extensive R&D strengths as well as its track record, offers the ideal technology partner for such a mission-critical undertaking.

Sanjay Malik, Tejas Networks’ Chief Strategy and Business Officer, added that this order win demonstrates the business’s ability to create large, high-availability networks. He went on further to state that Tejas’ earlier participation in BharatNet as a major GPON networking equipment vendor offers a stable base on which it shall propel both technical as well as organisational objectives of Phase III.

Strategic Outlook

Phase III of BharatNet, underpinned by Digital Bharat Nidhi, marks a significant step towards enhancing the rural broadband infrastructure of India. With the improved ring network, downtime will be significantly reduced, as will bandwidth availability for both private and government service providers. Tejas Networks’ participation further cements its footprint in the national broadband ecosystem and affirms its leadership in next-generation communication technologies.

Share Price Update

Tejas Networks’ stock fell on Thursday, continuing a downward trend despite announcing a partnership for the BharatNet Phase III project. The share price of Tejas Networks Ltd was at ₹541.20, down 1.36% on October 23, 2025, at 10:23 AM IST. The stock has slipped by 59% over the last year, 39% in the previous six months, and 9% over the last month.
