The Tempsons Instruments (India) IPO closed for subscription on August 24, 2026, after receiving an overwhelming response across investor categories. The ₹650 crore issue was subscribed 184.16 times overall, with NII investors bidding 314.41 times and QIBs 302.88 times. The retail portion was subscribed 60.89 times.

Mumbai, August 24: The Tempsons Instruments (India) IPO has closed for subscription after attracting massive demand during its three-day bidding window. The ₹650 crore public issue, which opened on August 20, ended on August 24, 2026, with the overall issue subscribed 184.16 times.
According to the final subscription data, investors placed bids for 2,79,58,38,550 shares against 1,51,81,668 shares offered to the public. The IPO received a total of 75,15,773 applications.
The strong response came mainly from HNI and institutional investors, although retail participation was also substantial.
NII Category Leads Subscription at 314.41x
The NII category recorded the highest subscription among the major investor categories at 314.41 times.
Within the NII segment, the bNII portion was subscribed 331.34 times, while the sNII portion received 280.56 times subscription.
The QIB (Ex Anchor) category was subscribed 302.88 times, with bids received for 1,30,94,62,300 shares against 43,23,335 shares offered.
Retail investors subscribed 60.89 times, bidding for 46,06,57,600 shares against 75,65,833 shares reserved for the category.
The employee portion was subscribed 124.75 times, with bids for 62,37,650 shares against 50,000 shares available.

The IPO began with a 5.95 times subscription on Day 1. Demand increased sharply on Day 2, taking the overall subscription to 21.69 times.
The final day brought a huge jump in bidding. QIB subscription surged from 3.31 times on Day 2 to 302.88 times, while NII subscription jumped from 52.98 times to 314.41 times.
Retail subscription also increased considerably, rising from 18.73 times on Day 2 to 60.89 times by the close.
Tempsons Instruments IPO Details
The IPO carried a price band of ₹285 to ₹300 per share, with the issue price fixed at ₹300 per share. The minimum lot size was 50 shares, meaning retail investors needed ₹15,000 at the upper price to apply for one lot.
The ₹650 crore issue comprised:
- Fresh Issue: 31,66,666 shares worth ₹95 crore
- Offer for Sale: 1,85,00,000 shares worth ₹555 crore
- Total Issue Size: 2,16,66,666 shares
The company had reserved 50% of the net issue for QIBs, 15% for NIIs and 35% for retail investors. An additional 50,000 shares were reserved for employees under the preferential reservation.
Tempsons Instruments IPO Anchor Investors
Before the IPO opened, Tempsons Instruments raised ₹194.55 crore from anchor investors.
The anchor portion consisted of 64,84,999 shares, with the anchor bidding taking place on August 19, 2026.
The lock-in period for 50% of the anchor shares ends on September 24, 2026, while the remaining shares are subject to a longer lock-in period ending on November 23, 2026.
What Happens After the IPO Closes?
The subscription period has now ended, so investors’ focus shifts to the allotment process.
