Titan shares gain, as Indian equity markets start another day in green

Indian equity markets have started the day in green today. At 10:20 a.m. today, 16^th October, 2025, Nifty 50 is up by 114.30 points or 0.45%. Sensex is up by 385.61 points or 0.47%.

All the broad market indices are in green at this time. Market volatility is marginally down. Nifty VIX index is down by 0.33%. Among broad market indices, Nifty Microcap index is the top gainer at this time. It is up by 0.71%.

Among sectoral indices, Nifty Auto index is the top gainer at this time. It is up by 1.25%. This after the auto sector posted record sales in the month of September. Realty stocks are again gaining today. Nifty Realty index is up by 1%. Nifty IT index is the top loser among sectoral indices. It is down by 0.11% at this time.

Top gainers & losers

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 at this time are Titan, Adani Ports and M&M. Top 3 losers are HDFC Life, SBI Life and Shriram Finance. Axis Bank’s shares are up by 2.60%, trading at Rs 1,216.40. The bank’s consolidated profit in the September quarter came down year-on-year by 25% to Rs 5,571 crore. This decline was mainly on account of a one-time provisioning of Rs 1,251 crore on two loan crop products. The bank is no longer offering these crop products. Titan shares are up by 2.37%, trading at Rs 3,633. This, as Diwali kicks in.

Market breadth is highly positive at this time. 1967 stocks are gaining at NSE at this time. 761 stocks are declining. 54 stocks touched new 52-week highs by this time, today at NSE. 33 stocks touched 52-week lows.
