Mumbai, October 1: Shares of Moneyview and Hero Motors were the most actively traded stocks on the NSE on Thursday, with both counters seeing sharp gains, while Vodafone Idea and PC Jeweller extended their declines. Moneyview surged after making a strong stock-market debut, with shares trading 70.41% above the IPO price, while Hero Motors rose 10% and traded 104% above its issue price. Vodafone Idea fell 2.16%, while PC Jeweller declined 4.32%.

Moneyview (up 70.41% over issue price)

Shares of Moneyview made a strong debut on the stock exchanges on Thursday, October 1, listing at ₹55 per share on the NSE, a 61.76% premium to its IPO price of ₹34. On the BSE, the stock opened at ₹55.61, marking a 63.56% premium. The ₹1,092-crore IPO was subscribed 98.46 times during September 24-28. Moneyview is a digital financial services platform offering personal loans, loan against property, secured loans, credit tracking, UPI and digital gold through a network of financial partners.

Vodafone Idea Limited (down 2.16%)

Shares of Vodafone Idea extended their decline on Thursday, after gaining on Tuesday following TRAI data showing that the telecom operator continued to add mobile subscribers in August. Vi added more than 5 lakh users during the month, extending its streak of subscriber gains since February.

Vodafone Idea’s mobile subscriber base rose to 19.96 crore in August from 19.91 crore in July, taking its market share to 15.43% at the end of the month.

The stock had come under pressure on Monday after a global brokerage reviewed the company’s new international roaming proposition for prepaid, postpaid and enterprise customers. Vodafone Idea has made international roaming a standard free benefit, while postpaid plans start at Rs 501. Its offerings also include annual prepaid unlimited-data plans and corporate plans starting at Rs 451.

The brokerage said the new proposition could help Vodafone Idea compete for premium customers with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, while encouraging existing prepaid users to shift to annual plans. Such a migration could potentially lower churn and reduce working-capital requirements, it said.

The brokerage retained a ‘Neutral’ rating on the stock, citing Vodafone Idea’s valuation premium to Bharti Airtel and its stretched cash-flow position. It expects the company’s EBITDA to grow at a slightly faster 15% CAGR, albeit from a lower base, as operating metrics improve.

According to the brokerage, the strategy appears primarily aimed at subscriber acquisition and retention, even if this comes at the cost of some pressure on average revenue per user (ARPU). It also pointed out that international roaming accounts for only a small share of industry telecom revenues, limiting the scope for the new offering to have a meaningful impact on Vodafone Idea’s near-term revenue.

PC Jeweller Limited (down 4.32%)

Shares of PC Jeweller extended their losing streak on Thursday, despite the jewellery retailer recently announcing that it had become completely debt-free after settling its outstanding dues with all 14 consortium banks ahead of schedule. The firm held its annual general meeting yesterday. The stock has gained 36% so far in 2026.

PC Jeweller had entered into a one-time settlement with the 14-bank consortium in September 2024 to resolve its outstanding borrowings. The lenders included State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda and IDFC First Bank.

The company said the completion of the repayments would materially strengthen its balance sheet and overall financial position. The debt reduction comes alongside an improvement in its operating performance.

For the June quarter, PC Jeweller reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 221.88 crore, up 37% from the year-ago period. Revenue from operations increased 21% year-on-year to Rs 877 crore, while operating profit after tax, excluding other income, rose sharply to Rs 213 crore from Rs 79 crore a year earlier.

The stock, however, has remained volatile in recent sessions despite its longer-term gains. It has fallen 11% over the past week but remains 22% higher over the past month. The shares have gained around 380% over the past three years, while the five-year return is also around 380%.

Hero Motors Limited (up 10%)

Shares of Hero Motors surged nearly 10% to ₹167.45 on Thursday, taking the stock’s gains to 104% from its IPO price of ₹82. The stock hit a fresh high as the company held its annual general meeting yesterday. Hero Motors is an automotive technology company that designs, develops and manufactures engineered powertrain solutions for global auto original equipment manufacturers across the US, Europe, India and ASEAN.
