Trent shares close the day down by 3.61% as Indian markets end another day in red

Indian equity markets saw another day in red today, 25^th September, 2025. Nifty 50 ended the day, down by 166.05 points or 0.66%. Sensex ended the day, down by 555.95 points or 0.68%.

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 today were BEL, Hero Motors and Hindalco. Top 3 losers were Trent, PowerGrid and Tata Motors. Trent’s shares ended the day down by 3.61% at Rs 4,720.

Decline today was across sectors & categories

The decline today was across sectors and categories. All the broad market indices at NSE ended the day in red. Nifty Microcap Index was the top loser among broad market indices. It ended the day, down by 1.04 points. Nifty 100 index lost 0.68%.

IT stocks continued to reel under H1-B visa shock

All the sectoral indices at NSE, except for Nifty Metal index, ended the day in red. Nifty Metal index gained 0.22%. Nifty IT index was the top loser today too. It ended the day, down by 1.22%. IT stocks continue to reel under the shock of steep increase in H1-B visa fee.

Shares of many non-banking financial services companies (NBFCs) also saw selling pressure today. Nifty Financial Services Ex-bank index was down by 1.16%. Auto stocks saw profit booking today, after the gains of the past two days. Nifty Auto index ended the day, down by 0.92%.

Market breadth was highly negative

Market breadth was highly negative today. 912 stocks gained during the day. 2123 stocks declined. 77 stocks touched new 52-week lows at NSE today. Market volatility increased by 2.47%.
