US equity markets gained yesterday after President Trump gets hopeful about US, China trade deal

US equity markets ended the day strongly in green, yesterday, 27th October, 2025. Nasdaq ended the day, up by 432.59 points or 1.86%. Dow Jones ended the day, up 337.47 points or 0.71%. S&P 500 ended the day, up by 83.47 points or 1.23%.

Qualcomm’s stock price jumped by more than 11% after the company introduced two new AI chips. Markets also got some boost from President Trump’s statement that he thinks that he will get a US, China trade deal in his meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

In another global development, market economy got a boost with the thumping victory of President Javier Milei’s party in Argentina’s midterm elections.

European markets ended in green

European markets also ended the day in green yesterday. Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, up by 36.56 points or 0.64%. Dax ended the day, up by 68.89 points or 0.28%. FTSE 100 ended the day, up by 8.20 points or 0.085%.

Many Asian markets seeing profit booking today

Japan’s Nikkei is seeing profit booking today after the highs of yesterday. At 9 a.m. IST today, 28th October, it is down by 92.36 points or 0.18%. Hang Seng is down by 13.96 points or 0.053%. South Korea’s Kospi index is down by 41.03 points or 1.01%. It also is seeing profit booking, after it crossed the 4000 level for the first time, yesterday. Shanghai Index is up by 8.74 points or 0.22%.

After the gains of yesterday, Indian equity markets may see some profit booking today.  Russian oil company, Lukoil has said that it will sell its international operations. This, after US and EU imposed sanctions on it.
