VA Tech WABAG Secures Delhi Wastewater Project; Shares Rise 3.71%

VA Tech WABAG secured a medium-value wastewater treatment and O&M order from Delhi Jal Board, while shares gained over 3% on May 22.

Mumbai, May 22: VA Tech WABAG Ltd said it has secured a Design, Build and Operate order from Delhi Jal Board for a wastewater treatment plant project in Delhi.
The company said in an exchange disclosure that the contract involves design, engineering, construction and commissioning of a 17 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant at Mitraon along with sludge dewatering facilities, pumping stations and associated piping works.
According to the filing, the project also includes operations and maintenance responsibilities for a period of 15 years after commissioning.
WABAG classified the contract as a “medium” order, which as per the company’s order categorisation framework corresponds to a value range of ₹100 crore to ₹250 crore.
The company stated that the wastewater treatment plant is expected to be completed within 21 months. The project is aimed at supporting Delhi’s urban sanitation infrastructure and long-term water sustainability initiatives.
In the regulatory filing, WABAG said the facility will incorporate advanced odour control systems, sustainable treatment technologies and energy-efficient operational systems.

WABAG share price rose 3.71% to ₹1,462.80 on the NSE as of 9:28 AM IST on May 22, 2026.
The stock opened at ₹1,450 and touched an early ₹1,471.50 during the session, according to exchange data. The previous close stood at ₹1,410.50.
The order win strengthened investor sentiment around the company’s municipal water treatment execution pipeline and long-term operations business.
