Adani Energy Solutions Adds ₹1,663 Cr Talegaon Project in Q1FY26; Transmission Capacity Jumps 63% YoY

Mumbai, 11 July 2025: Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL: NSE/BSE) reported robust operational progress in the first quarter of FY26, bolstered by new project wins, network expansion, and smart meter deployments. The company added a major 3,000 MVA project, the WRNES Talegaon line, with a sanctioned project cost of ₹1,663 crore and a tariff of ₹221 crore.
The strong operational uptick stems from the company’s aggressive infrastructure expansion strategy, which includes commissioning high-capacity transmission lines and scaling up smart metering deployment. Improved distribution efficiencies at AEML, despite seasonal headwinds, and consistent ESG performance underscore the company’s focus on sustainable, tech-enabled growth.
Adani Energy Solutions closed 2.28% lower at ₹870.70, slipping near its intraday low of ₹869.10 and trading well below its 52-week high of ₹1,348.
Transmission Business: Capacity Surges 63% YoY
AESL commissioned three key projects in Q1FY26 — Khavda Phase II Part-A, Khavda Pooling Station – 1, and the Sangod transmission line, adding 79 circuit kilometers (ckm) to its network. The company’s total transmission network length rose 26% YoY to 26,696 ckm from 21,187 ckm, while transformation capacity surged 63% YoY to 93,236 MVA from 57,186 MVA.

Distribution Business: AEML Reports Efficiency Gains Despite Monsoon Impact
Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) posted continued operational strength:
- Distribution loss reduced to 4.24% from 5.18% YoY.
- Collection efficiency improved to 98.29% (vs. 96.89% in Q1FY25).
- Units sold in Mumbai declined marginally to 2,939 million units (MUs) due to the early monsoon.
- Mundra (MUL) posted 20% YoY growth in energy sold to 271 MUs from 226 MUs.

Smart Metering: Rapid Scale-Up Continues
AESL has now deployed 55.5 lakh smart meters, maintaining a daily installation rate of 25,000–27,000 meters. The company targets 1 crore smart meters by FY26-end, addressing a large untapped market of ~95 million meters.

- AESL retained its position in the FTSE4Good Index with an ESG score of 4.4, significantly above the industry average of 2.9.
- The company secured a –A (Leadership Band) in CDP Supply Chain 2024.
- AEML hosted the “Pravartak” conclave focusing on EV infrastructure, centralized cooling, and green building innovations.
- AESL’s cyber defense earned it the ‘Best Security Team of the Year’ award at the UBS Forums CISO Conclave 2025.
