Bharti Airtel, has introduced an AI-driven security solution that prevents malicious website access on all digital platforms. The new service, designed for providing secure internet experiences, is now enabled automatically for all Airtel mobile and broadband users free of any extra cost.

This ahead-of-time solution provides real-time protection from harmful domains accessed through communication channels like WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, SMS, emails, and web browsers. Upon an attempt by users to visit a blocked malicious link, they are immediately redirected to a page that indicates why they are being blocked.

Increased Digital Threats Call for Action

With a sudden surge in cyber scams and online fraud in recent months, Airtel’s new initiative responds directly to the rising concern of cybersecurity. From OTP scams to phishing links, Indian users are being targeted by increasingly sophisticated cybercrimes. Aware of this reality, Airtel has created a multi-level threat intelligence platform that uses AI to detect and neutralize threats in real time.

“Our engineers have worked around the clock on addressing a critical problem—keeping our customers safe from scams on the internet,” according to Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Airtel. “This AI-driven fraud detection tool not only scans traffic patterns but also cross-checks them with global blacklists as well as Airtel’s in-house repository of threat actors in real time to block malicious domains. Six months of testing have seen high accuracy, and we continue to harden our defense systems further to purge all scams from our network.”

Seamless and Free Security for All Airtel Subscribers:

Unlike antivirus or security software, Airtel’s system is embedded in its network infrastructure. This automatically shields its users without requiring any download or activation of any service. The program is focused on providing “total peace of mind” for users while surfing, with their security protected from attempts at phishing, financial scams, and bogus websites.

Enabling a Safe Digital Environment:

This is in line with Airtel’s overall initiative of creating a secure digital ecosystem in India. The telecom company already caters to over 550 million users in 15 countries, providing a complete range of products and services, including 4G/5G mobile broadband, Airtel Xstream Fiber, payments, cloud communications, cybersecurity, and IoT solutions. Airtel’s security rollout also supports its position as a responsible telecom provider, dedicated to harnessing innovation in order to protect users in the increasingly interconnected world.
