Chennai, 26 May 2025 – Antara Senior Care is launching a new Care Home Facility in Chennai to meet the rising demand for senior care in the region. Ananta Senior Care is a subsidiary of Max India Limited (BSE: 543223 | NSE: MAXIND).

  • The care home is a 43-bed facility.
  • The total size of the care home is ~30,000 sq. ft.
  • The care home is situated on Chennai’s East Coast Road (ECR)
  • This is the sixth care home launched by Antara in India and the first in Chennai.
  • The facility is fully wheelchair accessible.
  • The patients will get 24/7 medical and nursing care.
  • Some other facilities include in-house physiotherapy, nutrition management, and mental wellness support
  • It is equipped with hospital-grade beds, diagnostic tools, and trained staff to support both post-hospitalisation recovery and long-term support needs.

Chennai’s Rising Demand For Senior Care

Chennai is a city which is considered a hub for medical tourism. However, in the recent past, there has been a surge in the number of elderly patients who are looking for quality medical care. The patients are both domestic and international, but senior-targeted medical facilities have been limited. Antara’s senior care home will allow such seniors to get quality medical assistance, specifically for those seniors who are without support in their homes.

CEO Commentary and Strategic Vision

Speaking on the launch, Ishaan Khanna, CEO of Antara Assisted Care Services, said:

“With the launch of our new Antara Care Home on the East Coast Road, we are excited to bring to Chennai a facility that is built to deliver the highest standard of rehabilitative and recuperative care to seniors, as well as assisted living services for those requiring long-term support. We aim to provide seniors and their children a stress-free recovery experience and quality assisted living option in an environment built around their needs.”

Khanna also highlighted Chennai’s strong healthcare infrastructure and growing awareness of specialised elder care as key drivers for the company’s expansion in the region.

Antara’s Expanding Assisted Care Network

Antara Senior Care, launched in 2013, operates under two primary verticals: Residences for Seniors and Assisted Care Services. It already has residential communities in Dehradun and Noida, and plans to expand further into Gurugram with Estate 360, Delhi-NCR’s first intergenerational community.

In addition to physical facilities, Antara also offers “Care at Home” services in cities like Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Chennai, and retail offerings under the AGEasy brand for senior-focused health products and mobility aids.

With India’s senior population projected to reach 350 million by 2050, Antara’s continued expansion aligns with a broader national need for quality eldercare infrastructure.
