Atlas Cycles Appoints Dr. Praveen Kumar as Independent Director for One-Year Term

Atlas Cycles (Haryana) Ltd. has announced the appointment of Dr. Praveen Kumar as an Additional (Independent) Director for a period of one year, effective May 29, 2025. The appointment, approved by the Board of Directors based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, is subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

Dr. Praveen Kumar: A Distinguished Civil Servant and Healthcare Professional

Dr. Praveen Kumar brings over three decades of administrative experience to the boardroom. A 2001 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Dr. Kumar retired as Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Haryana in 2020. He began his career in the Haryana State Civil Services in 1985 and served in several senior leadership roles across state and central government departments.

Academically, Dr. Kumar holds a B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. (Hons.) in English from Punjab University, an M.A. in Psychology from Aligarh University, and a Bachelor of Homeopathic and Medical Sciences (BHMS) from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He is also a practicing homeopathic doctor, dedicated to serving underprivileged communities post-retirement.

In accordance with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, Atlas Cycles confirmed that Dr. Kumar meets the criteria for independence under the Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI regulations. Furthermore, he is not debarred from holding the office of director by SEBI or any other statutory authority.
