Mumbai, May 4: Bajaj Auto Limited reported a 40% year-on-year increase in total vehicle sales for April 2026, according to an exchange filing on Monday.
The company sold 5,13,792 units during the month, compared with 3,65,810 units a year earlier. Growth was broad based, with both two wheelers and commercial vehicles contributing, though exports stood out as the main driver.
Two-wheeler sales rose 38% to 4,39,953 units. Domestic volumes increased 11% to 2,10,063 units, while exports surged 78% to 2,29,890 units.
Commercial vehicle sales grew even faster, up 54% to 73,839 units. Domestic CV volumes rose 19% to 38,147 units, while exports jumped 125% to 35,692 units.
The numbers point to a combination of steady domestic demand and a strong rebound in overseas markets.

What’s Driving The Growth
Exports continue to play a central role in Bajaj Auto’s performance. The company has a wide presence across emerging markets, and demand recovery in those regions is now clearly showing up in the numbers.
At the same time, domestic growth while more modest remains steady, adding stability to the overall sales mix.
The Bottom Line
April’s sales performance reinforces Bajaj Auto Limited’s strong positioning in global two and three-wheeler markets. The market reaction suggests confidence in the momentum, but sustaining it will depend on how export demand holds up and whether domestic growth continues to improve.
