According to the company’s press release, the partnership brings together Ekta Kapoor’s creative direction and intellectual property with YouTube’s global distribution and monetisation capabilities.

The initial slate will comprise five original shows with a combined 200 episodes. The company said the content is being developed specifically for today’s digital-first viewers, while retaining the storytelling approach associated with mainstream television.

The upcoming titles include Haq Season 2, Phir Kya Hi Kehani Suno, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai Season 4 and other projects currently under development.

The stock had traded higher during parts of the session and moved above ₹93 before giving up those gains later in the afternoon. The day’s chart showed the stock at ₹90.20 at the latest update.

The market movement came as the company disclosed the YouTube partnership and outlined its plans to take more original content directly to digital audiences.

YouTube To Provide Global Distribution For New Content

Under the partnership, YouTube will serve as a distribution and monetisation platform for the new shows, while Ekta Kapoor will lead the creative vision and retain ownership of the intellectual property.

The content is expected to be available globally and will be produced in 4K, positioning the shows for large-screen as well as connected-TV viewing.

The collaboration reflects the changing way audiences consume television content. Instead of limiting new shows to traditional broadcast and streaming schedules, Balaji Telefilms is taking selected productions directly to a platform where viewers already spend significant time.

YouTube said the partnership would combine its reach with Balaji Telefilms’ storytelling capabilities to create television-style programming for a digital-first audience.

Partnership Targets India’s Growing Digital-First Audience

The company pointed to the growing overlap between television and online video consumption as a key opportunity behind the initiative.

According to the release, YouTube reached more than 975 million people aged 18 and above in India on connected TV during April 2025, while the platform had also reached 1 billion adults across TV screens in India during May 2025, based on data cited by the company.

Balaji Telefilms said the new slate is intended to bring high-production-value storytelling to audiences on the platform, with the content also supported by trailers, behind-the-scenes material and upcoming-premiere updates.

The partnership will therefore extend beyond simply uploading television programmes. It is structured around creating original content specifically suited to online consumption and discovery.

Balaji Telefilms Expands Its Digital Content Strategy

Balaji Telefilms has built its business around television and digital entertainment, with Ekta Kapoor among the company’s key creative figures.

The company has developed a large portfolio of television and digital properties over the years, while its production activities span fiction, entertainment and other formats.

The latest YouTube arrangement adds another distribution route for its original programming and gives the company an opportunity to take selected content to audiences beyond the conventional television ecosystem.

The festive-season launch will also be supported through the company’s existing digital content channels, including social media and promotional material around the new shows.

Five Shows Mark First Phase Of YouTube Collaboration

The five-show slate is expected to bring around 200 episodes to YouTube, giving the partnership a sizeable initial content pipeline.

For Balaji Telefilms, the arrangement combines established creative capabilities with YouTube’s reach, while allowing new programming to be designed around online viewing habits from the outset.

The company has not indicated any separate financial value for the strategic partnership in the disclosure.

Conclusion

Balaji Telefilms has partnered with YouTube to launch five original shows comprising around 200 episodes, with the content aimed at digital-first and connected-TV audiences.

Ekta Kapoor will lead the creative direction, while YouTube will provide distribution and monetisation support. The initiative marks a fresh push into original digital programming as television viewing continues to expand across online platforms.

Meanwhile, the Balaji Telefilms share price was at ₹90.20 as of 2:36 PM IST on September 4, 2026, down 1.22% from the previous close.
