Mumbai, 7 November 2025: The stock price of Bharti Airtel Ltd (NSE: BHARTIARTL) slipped nearly 4% after Singapore-based Singtel announced plans to sell up to 0.8% of its stake in the company. The proposed block deal is valued at approximately ₹10,300 crore, reflecting the total market worth of the shares being sold.

Stake Sale Details and Market Impact

The shares in the proposed sale will be offered at a minimum price of ₹2,030 each, providing a discount to the last trading price of ₹2,094.90. The stock opened at ₹2,048 and quickly touched an intraday low of ₹1,997.90, as investors reacted cautiously to the large secondary transaction.

Trading volume surged to 575.93 lakh shares during this period, with a turnover of ₹11,691.93 crore, marking the highest in recent months. The volume-weighted average price (VWAP) stood at ₹2,030.08, indicating strong participation from institutional investors in the selloff.

Stock Market Performance

At 12:45 pm IST, Bharti Airtel shares were down 3.99%, trading at ₹2,011.30. Among its Nifty peers, this was one of the smaller intraday declines. Just a few days ago, on November 4, the stock had hit a 52-week high of ₹2,135.60 following strong quarterly results and positive institutional inflows. The recent stake sale announcement prompted short-term investors to book profits, pushing the stock below ₹2,020.

Experts note that while the stake sale may trigger short-term volatility, it reflects Singtel’s strategy to diversify its investments across Asia. The transaction is not a sign of weakness for Airtel, which continues to generate strong profits and healthy cash flow.
